Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent years, people say that everyone can fit in the arts- music, literature, acting, art, and who become notorious and wealthy, while the individuals who are talented have no appreciation. It is widely believed that this issue has become increasingly significant in all modern societies. It has generated debate because people support favoritism and bribery over talented artists. I agree with this view because it has widely spread among different nations.
One main reason why I agree this view is that rich families give briberies for taking parts in different art activities. This means that the talented artists who deserve the spot remains unemployed. For instance, rich members become famous and wealthy instantly by taking part in art activities, while poor members remain at the same level. As a result, it promotes injustice and creates inequality in society.
Another important reason is that favoritism affect the talented artists in terms of valued and appreciated. In other words, the selectors choose the individuals who they like despite it has no greater talent than others. For example, the selectors support the close family members for taking parts in different art activities like an acting, music, literature, and others. Therefore, it is clear that the deserving members stay back and not be truly valued.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that the individuals who have no talent become more famous and wealthy, while the talented people are not truly appreciated. Overall, I believe that government should take action against such activities like bribery and favoritism, and this approach will lead to equality among peoples.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you agree that people without talent can gain fame and wealth while talented artists are overlooked. You also give two relevant reasons—bribery and favouritism—and include examples involving wealthy participants and selectors choosing relatives. However, the argument is only partly developed. The examples remain general, and the claim that rich families pay bribes is not explained or supported with a specific situation. The opening also introduces the broader issue but does not clearly distinguish the public attitude that “anyone can do it” from the consequences you discuss. To strengthen the response, explain how these practices operate and why they cause genuine talent to be undervalued, using a more precise example for each main point.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion that restates your position. Linking phrases such as “For instance,” “As a result,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, the progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, with repeated patterns such as “This means,” “In other words,” and “Therefore.” Some references are also unclear: “this view” in the introduction and “the deserving members” in the second body paragraph could be made more specific. Improve cohesion by connecting each example directly to the claim it supports and varying transitions, rather than relying on formulaic signposting.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “bribery,” “favoritism,” “talented artists,” “selectors,” and “inequality,” so the reader can follow the central argument. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “increasingly significant” and “promotes injustice.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “give briberies,” “taking parts,” “remain at the same level,” and “stay back.” The repeated use of “art activities” also limits precision and variety. Aim to learn common word partnerships and choose terms that describe the arts context more exactly—for example, distinguish between gaining a role, receiving recognition, and being selected. This would make your ideas clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “while,” and “despite,” and your meaning is generally understandable. However, some grammatical errors recur and occasionally make relationships between ideas less clear. For example, “One main reason why I agree this view” is missing a necessary preposition, while “the talented artists … remains unemployed” has subject–verb disagreement. In “favoritism affect,” the verb also needs to agree with its singular subject, and “despite it has no greater talent” has an incorrect clause structure. Articles and plural forms are also inconsistent, as in “like an acting.” Practise accurate agreement, article use, and subordinate-clause patterns, then proofread each sentence for these points.
