You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

In the fast pace world where everyone is trying to get wealthy and successful. many people around the globe believe that anyone can do anything in arts, music literature acting etc. As a consequence of this, sometimes people who are really talented are lefet behind being less valued and appreciated whereas people with almost no talent achieve success and become rich and famous. In my opinion I agree to some extent of this statement.

The main reason for setting an attitude that 'anyone can do it' comes from the access to different and almost any type of content on social media. Many believe that if a person for example is singing, then it means I can sing it too. But singing is not everyone's cup of tea. They may be bathroom singers, and can sing for themselves but it is not necessary that people will enjoy listening to them too. An example is of an Asian man, named, Chahat Fateh Ali Khan. With almost no talent in voice the man is still popular among people and classify himself as a great singer. He just recorded a video of him singing a weird song, which caught attention and got viral on social media. Many made fun of him but many enjoyed it, but through social media he became a celebrity. The same is applied to different social media influencers, who have no talent but with their absurd behaviour they got famous.

Furthermore, many think that we should atleast try to do something different from our day to day life. So, in the name of abstract art, painting with almost no meaning are sold and many buy them. Many people who are real artists are not valued or appreciated for their work, but an absolutely unmeaningful abstract art painting, going viral on social media earns millions of like, stars and fame. Similarly, many influencers, have become actors but their acting is not worth a watch.

To sum up, yes I think that people believing they can do anything are quite confident but confidence without talent cannot work for longer time. It is always the real talent which would be appreciated in the long run, because true art speaks for itself. Thus, i believe that to some extent it is true that untalented people are rich and famous but their span is short. Genuinly talented people always leave marks which are unforgettable, like the ancient wall paintings and calligraphy on and in different monumnets of the world.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address the question and state a qualified position: “I agree to some extent.” Your examples of a social-media singer, influencers, and abstract art are relevant to the claim that people without conventional talent can gain attention and money. The conclusion also returns to your view that this success may be temporary, contrasting it with lasting artistic achievement. However, the argument is not developed equally throughout. The abstract-art point is asserted rather than explained, and the essay does not clearly distinguish being popular from becoming rich or explain how genuine artists are overlooked. Develop these links with specific reasoning or evidence, and make your degree of agreement more explicit in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting examples, and a conclusion. Sequencing expressions such as “Furthermore” and “To sum up” help readers follow the progression, and the final contrast between short-lived fame and lasting art gives the essay a recognisable direction. This already provides a coherent arrangement, but some connections remain mechanical or unclear. For example, “The same is applied to different social media influencers” does not precisely explain how the previous example supports the next point, while the shift from social-media fame to abstract art could be signposted more clearly. Improve cohesion by making the relationship between each example and the main claim explicit, and use referencing that clearly identifies who or what is being discussed.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “appreciated,” “abstract art,” “influencers,” “celebrity,” and “true art speaks for itself.” These choices make the subject clear and show attempts to express ideas beyond basic vocabulary. However, several word-choice and spelling problems reduce precision, including “unmeaningful,” “got viral,” “classify himself,” “lefet,” and “Genuinly.” Some phrases are also awkward or imprecise, such as “achieve success and become rich and famous” when the argument concerns different kinds of recognition. Build accuracy by checking spelling and choosing natural collocations; for instance, use “went viral,” “describes himself as,” and “meaningless” where appropriate. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish popularity, artistic skill, and commercial success.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “whereas,” “if,” and “because.” Most ideas remain understandable, and the essay includes some effective sentence variety. However, some grammatical errors and punctuation problems are noticeable. The opening fragment, “In the fast pace world where everyone is trying to get wealthy and successful,” needs to be joined to the following sentence; “many” should not begin a new sentence after the full stop. Other examples include “painting with almost no meaning are sold,” where the subject and verb do not agree, and “many believe that if a person … is singing, then it means I can sing it too,” where the pronouns shift. Review sentence boundaries, agreement, and consistent pronoun use to make your complex sentences more controlled.
