In some countries today, there is an attitude that 'anyone can do it' in the arts - music, literature, acting, art, etc. As a result, people with no talent become rich and famous and genuine talent is not valued or appreciated.
Do you agree or disagree?
You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
People are getting increasingly terrified of true talent being sidelined, and, not valued and appreciated enough. We are in an era where people believe that they can do anything even without taking proper guidance or doing any hard training. This attitude is most prevalent in the genre of art, music, acting, and literature.
According to my experiences, I agree with the statement that people are having the 'anyone can do it' attitude. In this era of social media where people get easy fame and get rich without providing the society with anything, they tend to try new things for which they have never worked before. For example, many influencers after reaching their peak in the influential zone , they get into movies and serials. As they had never done acting classes before or never trained to act, they perform the absolute worse.
This is not even the worst part. The worst part is, they do not even care how they are doing. Their ultimate goal remains earing a fortune. Besides this, the people who are the most affected by this are the people who worked their whole life to hone their acting skills being sidelined by some famous influencer who just wants to try something different.
This is not only true for the acting career but also other art forms like music, literature and art.
Recently, I witnessed a person who got famous from a reality show trying to start her singing career. Not because she is good at singing but her fans are dumb enough to support someone who is not even a good singer. These famous so called 'influencers' who have no true talent are the reason many people with genuine talent and who worked hard for their whole life gets sidelined.
Obviously this is not true for all the influencers. Many influencers are truly talented and try to teach their skills to other people. For Example- makeup artist, painters, etc.
Ultimately, the overall verdict would be that it is true that genuine talents are often sidelined by a famous person.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you agree that the “anyone can do it” attitude can sideline genuine talent, and you address several art forms. The examples of influencers entering acting and a reality-show participant pursuing singing are relevant and help explain your view. This meets the task well, while the qualification that some influencers are talented shows some nuance. However, the discussion is not equally developed across the arts: music is mentioned through one brief example, while literature and visual art receive little explanation. The claim that fans are “dumb enough” to support a singer is also asserted rather than supported. To strengthen the response further, explain more precisely how popularity or commercial incentives reduce opportunities or recognition for skilled artists.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall structure: it introduces the issue, gives examples, acknowledges an exception, and ends with a verdict. Paragraph breaks generally help separate these stages, and links such as “Besides this” and “Ultimately” make the progression visible. However, some connections feel mechanical or repetitive, particularly the repeated emphasis on influencers and sidelined talent. “This is not even the worst part” signals a new point, but the following sentences largely restate the previous criticism rather than clearly advancing it. The final paragraph also introduces a qualification without fully connecting it to the overall argument. Use clearer topic sentences and refer back to the central claim more precisely, so each paragraph develops a distinct reason or consequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “genuine talent,” “hone their acting skills,” “sidelined,” and “influential zone.” These choices show an attempt to discuss fame, skill, and recognition beyond very basic language. However, several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision: “in the influential zone,” “perform the absolute worse,” and “earring a fortune” do not convey the intended meaning naturally. There are also spelling and word-form problems, such as “earring” for “earning,” and “so called” needs a hyphen when used before a noun. Aim for more precise collocations and avoid informal or dismissive wording such as “dumb enough”; this will make your argument sound more controlled and academic.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of sentence forms, including subordinate clauses such as “As they had never done acting classes before…” and a concession beginning “Although” in the discussion of talented influencers. Meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “people who worked their whole life … gets sidelined” has a subject–verb agreement problem and an inconsistent plural reference; “the people who worked” should take a plural verb. The opening sentence has awkward punctuation around “and,” and “the worst part is, they do not even care” would be clearer with a colon or a restructured clause. There are also incomplete or awkward constructions, such as “Not because she is good at singing but her fans…” Build accuracy by checking agreement, sentence boundaries, and punctuation, especially in longer sentences.
