The provided diagram illustrates the process of constructing and using a home-made water clock made from plastic bottles.

Looking from an overall perspective, it is crystal clear that the process consists of seven stages. Commencing with switching the tap on for constant flowing of water and culminating with emptying the container and repeating the process.

At first glance, a plastic bottle is fixed vertically to a stand using tape. A small hole is made in the bottom of the bottle, while a straw is inserted through the side near the top and sealed with glue to prevent leakage. Subsequently, Another plastic bottle, with its neck removed, is placed directly beneath the upper bottle to collect the dripping water.

Moving ahead, the water clock is prepared by first turning on the tap and filling the upper bottle with water while covering the hole at its base with a finger. Post this, water is added until the bottle overflows. At this point, excess water escapes through the straw, ensuring that the water level inside the bottle remains constant throughout the measurement process. Once the bottle has been filled, the finger is removed from the hole, allowing the water to drip steadily into the lower container. As the water accumulates, the level of water in the lower bottle rises at a regular rate. Meanwhile, the time is measured by the side marks. After use, the lower container is emptied and the process can be repeated whenever there is requirement.
