HOW TO BUILD YOUR OWN WATER CLOCK
Student answer (Band 5.0)
The diagram illustrates the process for making water clock. To bulid the water clock. Firstly we have to fix a tap then fix a stand. Moving forward, we sould place a bottle then cover hole with finger, then we have to fill top bottle to overflow to have a level pf constant later we should remove finger from a hole then the water drop to plastic bottle before placing bottle we should cut off the bottle neck and at last if the bottles gets full we should close the tap to save water.
At a glance it took pencil to mark the levels per minute and again if it get empty the process will be reapting for timing things.
I conclude that water plays an significant role , so we should not waste water , and helps poor people by giving them fresh water. The things used in making water clock is pencil, water, bottle, and a tape

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response covers the main stages of the process, but the presentation is disorganized and lacks a clear overview. The inclusion of personal opinions in the conclusion, such as 'we should not waste water' and 'helps poor people', is inappropriate for an Academic Task 1 report, which requires an objective description of the visual data. Furthermore, the description of the steps is somewhat confusing, particularly the instruction regarding the 'top bottle' and the 'plastic bottle', which does not clearly reflect the typical mechanics of a water clock. To improve, focus on describing the sequence of events objectively and provide a clear summary of the overall process in the introduction.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response lacks logical progression. While there is an attempt to use sequencing words like 'Firstly' and 'Moving forward', the transition between ideas is often abrupt and confusing. The paragraphing is weak; the second paragraph is very short and does not logically follow the first. Additionally, the use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as the phrase 'at last if the bottles gets full'. The overall structure is disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the intended process clearly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, relying heavily on simple verbs like 'fix', 'place', and 'cut'. There are several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'level pf constant' and 'timing things'. The spelling of 'bulid' and 'reapting' also indicates a lack of control. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more precise technical vocabulary related to processes and measurements, and ensure that words are used in their correct context to describe the diagram accurately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('bottles gets full'), missing articles ('fix a tap', 'cover hole'), and awkward sentence structures ('the water drop to plastic bottle'). The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with some errors in punctuation and tense consistency. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including the correct use of articles and verb tenses, before attempting more complex structures.
