Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both causes and possible measures, and your position is broadly that age should not prevent capable, experienced people from being hired. You identify concerns about physical ability and employers’ preference for younger workers, then suggest that companies should offer suitable jobs to older applicants. However, the causes are not clearly separated or fully explained, and the proposed measures remain general. For example, “companies are should give the good job” does not explain how employers could assess ability fairly or adapt roles. The examples of nurses, security workers, drivers and house workers are listed without showing why these jobs are unsuitable or how they support your argument. Develop each main idea with a clear explanation and a relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
Your response has a basic overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph about the problem, a paragraph proposing a solution, and a conclusion. This helps the reader recognise the main stages of your answer. However, progression within paragraphs is difficult to follow because several points are joined together without clear relationships, and ideas are repeated, such as the claim that people over 50 should receive good jobs. Linking expressions such as “because,” “so” and “therefore” are used, but they do not always show a clear logical connection. The conclusion also introduces a new condition about rejecting applicants who cannot do the work. Organise each body paragraph around one main point, explain it in sequence, and use clear sentence boundaries and references.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “experience,” “senior citizen,” “physically,” “company” and “future,” so the reader can identify the general subject. However, the range is basic and repetitive, and frequent spelling and word-choice errors strain understanding. Examples include “godd job,” “epriens,” “mucels,” “skelotan” and “liggely”; some intended meanings are difficult to identify. Phrases such as “a bad work” and “not strong or not preper mentaly” are also imprecise or unnatural. Build a reliable set of topic vocabulary and check spelling and collocations. More precise terms such as “age discrimination,” “physical demands” and “transferable skills” would help you express the causes and solutions clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to express causes and conditions using forms such as “when people come…” and “if people with experience…,” but sentence structures are very limited and these longer attempts are often faulty. Errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction frequently make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “A peoples when comeing your lifes 50 age” lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “companies are should give” combines incompatible verb forms. Several sentences run together, as in the final paragraph, making it hard to see where one idea ends and another begins. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with one clear subordinate clause. Check subject–verb agreement, verb forms and punctuation when editing.
