Student answer (Band 5.5)

In few countries, old people over the age of 50 with the great the experience and the knowledge are facing problem in terms of finding a good job or to get hired. In this essay, I will discuss all the causes of this problem and requires measures to solve it.

In this segment, I will discuss the causes of this problem and solution with proper facts and argument. Firstly, many old people are facing issues related to health problems inspite of having great experience in terms of jobs because companies and employers are looking for the people without any health problems so that people focus more on work and make abundant profit for the companies. Therefore, old people over the age of 50 do not get jobs easily. However, it can be solve with proper methods like governments should organize awareness program to encourage the old people to do exercise daily and have a proper diet. Moreover, governments should spend more on medical facilities for the old people so they can get proper treatment and do not face problems while working.

Furthermore, many companies and organization often prefers to hire young people because they are more capable for adapting new skills easily and also well aware of the usage of AI. Meanwhile, older generation faces difficulties for adapting new skills and have less knowledge regarding AI. Therefore, companies hires young people and not old people despite their experience. Nevertheless, it can be resolves by organizing skill based programmes for the old people, so they become aware about today's time. Moreover, companies should hire old people for taking big decision as they are more experience.

To conclude, by taking proper measures and steps older generation can get good jobs.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The essay addresses both parts of the prompt: causes (health concerns and lack of modern skills/AI knowledge) and solutions (government health initiatives and skill-based training). However, the development is somewhat superficial. The ideas are presented but lack depth or specific examples to illustrate the points effectively. For instance, the suggestion that governments should organize awareness programs for exercise is a bit generic. To reach a higher band, you should provide more concrete examples or elaborate on how these solutions would realistically be implemented by companies or policymakers. The position is clear, but the overall development remains basic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', and 'To conclude' to signal transitions. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally repetitive. For example, the phrase 'In this segment, I will discuss...' is unnecessary and disrupts the flow. Additionally, some transitions feel forced. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that ideas within paragraphs are more tightly connected would enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for a higher band. You rely on simple, repetitive phrasing such as 'old people', 'good jobs', and 'proper methods'. There are also some minor word-choice inaccuracies, such as 'requires measures' instead of 'required measures' or 'for taking big decision' instead of 'for making major decisions'. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations and topic-specific vocabulary related to the labor market, such as 'ageism', 'professional development', or 'technological proficiency'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Common issues include article misuse ('the great the experience'), subject-verb agreement ('companies hires'), and incorrect verb forms ('it can be solve', 'it can be resolves'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to limit the score. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring consistent verb tense usage throughout your arguments.
