Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: causes (technological change and salary expectations) and solutions (government training and flexible work). However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the example regarding France in 2020 is relevant but lacks sufficient detail to fully support the argument. The position is clear, but the explanation of why these factors lead to unemployment could be more nuanced. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully explored with more depth and logical connection to the central issue.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from causes to solutions. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To commence with', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical. The referencing is generally clear, although the sentence structure occasionally hinders the flow, such as the awkward phrasing in 'Now i will be discussed the given statement'. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different sections of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There is some repetition of basic terms like 'work', 'people', and 'experience'. Some word choices are slightly unnatural, such as 'secure their jobs' when referring to finding employment, or 'not enable for a work'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of more sophisticated or topic-specific vocabulary (e.g., 'ageism', 'upskilling', 'fiscal incentives') limits the score in this criterion.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('everyone should gives', 'Firms should gives'), article usage ('the technology', 'the covid'), and awkward sentence construction ('who person is over the 50 years'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. To improve, focus on basic subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles and prepositions.
