Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt—causes and solutions—but the development is superficial. The causes, such as the influx of fresh graduates and health concerns, are mentioned but not sufficiently explained or supported with concrete examples. Similarly, the proposed solutions, like 'fixed numbers for employees' or 'scholarship programmes', are vague and lack practical detail. The essay tends to over-generalize, and the position is not consistently developed throughout the text. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your ideas with specific examples or hypothetical scenarios to demonstrate a deeper understanding of the issue.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is often weak. While there are some cohesive devices used, such as 'On the other hand' and 'Another major reason', they are sometimes used mechanically or inappropriately. The transition between ideas is occasionally abrupt, making the flow feel disjointed. For instance, the jump from discussing health conditions to suggesting 'fixed numbers for employees' lacks a clear logical bridge. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. You use phrases like 'good job', 'hard', and 'several' multiple times. There are attempts to use more academic vocabulary, such as 'vital role' and 'enhance the economy', but these are limited. Some word choices are slightly unnatural, such as 'distribution' in the context of job markets or 'solve beautifully'. To improve, focus on using more precise synonyms and collocations relevant to professional and economic topics, and try to vary your word choices to demonstrate a wider range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'there are number of solutions are available', 'Some institutes needs', and 'They can be hire'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some missing commas and awkward phrasing. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on subject-verb agreement, correct passive voice construction, and proofreading for basic sentence structure errors.
