Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt—causes and solutions—but the development is limited. The ideas regarding health issues and technological gaps are relevant, but they are presented in a somewhat simplistic manner. The solutions provided, such as younger generations supporting grandparents, are a bit vague and lack depth. The position is clear, but the arguments would benefit from more sophisticated reasoning and concrete examples beyond the brief mention of a neighbor. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully extended with clear logical links and more detailed explanations.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'While, there is ongoing debate' and 'in conclusion, i strongly recommend'. Some sentences lack logical flow, making the progression of ideas feel disjointed at times. Referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the transition between health issues and technology feels abrupt. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words would significantly enhance the flow of the essay.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There is frequent repetition of basic terms like 'job', 'work', and 'issue'. Some word choices are unnatural or incorrect, such as 'gray hair people', 'regine from job', and 'older human'. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of sophisticated vocabulary and collocation errors limits the score. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to employment and aging, and avoid informal phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('my neighbor uncle who have'), article usage, and incorrect verb forms ('do not aware', 'they have to regine'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with misplaced commas and capitalization errors. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to cause difficulty for the reader. A focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be highly beneficial.
