You should use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the contemporary economic world, the topic is under the debate that people who are above 50, its formidable for them to get well reputed jobs, despite of having experience. In my perspective ,the major underlying forces are less jobs and escalation of competition in the current market. Moreover, the solution is that without the compromising on the youth jobs, government should facilitate the people who are 50 plus, jobs according to their experience and their convenience.
Firstly, as the world is reaching to cutting edge and become more advance, this might give some concern about decrease in the number of vacancies in the market. To illustrate that as the world shifted more to the state of art, internet, artificial intelligence, enormous jobs are shifted form human to computer which can be done by any Ai tool. For instance, the job of security, the world is shifted from human being to cyber security which can be done installing cameras, detectors etc.
Secondly, where the unemployment are at peak, more youth is jobless, if major jobs remain occupy by elder who are 50 plus, youth will become more hopeless, disappointed and disheartened. As a result, squandered potential could be seen in juvenile.
Solution to this is could be, government should assign few jobs only to the experienced people but without the compromising the jobs of fresh people. Because the strong youth is more essential for any society betterment. Other solution could be government should assign pension to each retire person, so it may assist for their better life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: causes (technological advancement and youth unemployment) and solutions (government intervention and pensions). However, the development is somewhat limited. The argument regarding youth unemployment is slightly contradictory, as it suggests that hiring older workers harms the youth, but does not fully explain why these two groups cannot coexist in the workforce. The ideas are relevant but lack depth and specific examples to fully support the claims. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your reasoning and provide more concrete evidence or real-world examples to illustrate your points.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. There is a logical progression from the introduction to the causes and then the solutions. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'To illustrate that as the world shifted...' and 'Solution to this is could be'. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, such as the use of 'it' in the opening sentence. Improving the variety and natural flow of linking words would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'contemporary economic world', 'formidable', and 'squandered potential'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'without the compromising on the youth jobs' and 'the world is reaching to cutting edge'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your argument. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that your word forms (e.g., 'retire' vs 'retired') are used correctly in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the world', 'the unemployment'), prepositions, and verb forms ('jobs are shifted form human to computer'). Some sentences are also slightly fragmented or lack grammatical cohesion, such as 'Solution to this is could be'. While these errors rarely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and consistent use of articles.
