Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this contemporary era, due to the technological advancement, employment sector is increasing rapidly. However, in few nations, adults over 50 still faced many challenges to find job, even they have enough experience. This essay will discuss the major causes of this trend and given some valuable solutions to solve this problem.
On the one hand, the key reason of this trend is the lack of more modern skills. Generally, adults have more life experience but they still find it difficult to get job, mostly all the company wants employees with digital and modern skills, who knows how to operate machines. Normally, adults find it difficult to learn these skills and they become unemployed. Another predominant reason is that nowadays many companies recruit young employees, even if they are freshers because they are energetic, productive and intelligent as compared to older generation. As a result, campanies often saves their time and increase sales with the help of young people.
On the other hand, there are numerous effective solutions to address the problem. First and foremost is that government and industries need to provide training programmes to adults, so they can get more knowledge about modern technology and skills. Hence, it helps them to get high paid jobs. Secondly, authorities should encourage factories to elimate discrimination in job recruitment process, so both young and adults can get jobs with their knowledge and experience. These measure helps to reduce the problem of unemployment.
In conclusion, there are several causes of the statement such as lack of essential skills and discrimination in jobs but these problems can be tackled by training programmes and eliminating unfair treatment in selection of jobs.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: causes (lack of modern skills and preference for younger workers) and solutions (training programs and anti-discrimination policies). The ideas are relevant and clearly presented. However, the development is somewhat basic. For example, the explanation of why companies prefer younger workers is a bit generic. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific examples or deeper analysis of the implications of these trends. The position is clear throughout, and the conclusion effectively summarizes the main points discussed in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the causes from the solutions. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', 'First and foremost', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there is occasional repetition of phrasing (e.g., 'this trend'). The progression of ideas is generally smooth, though the link between sentences could be more sophisticated to improve the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There is some attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'technological advancement', 'discrimination', and 'recruitment process'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'given some valuable solutions' (should be 'give') and 'campanies often saves' (spelling and subject-verb agreement). To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic collocations and avoid repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the employment sector'), subject-verb agreement ('campanies often saves'), and pluralization ('in few nations'). Some sentences are slightly awkward, such as 'even they have enough experience' (should be 'even though they have'). The punctuation is generally correct, but the grammatical control is inconsistent. Increasing the variety of complex structures while ensuring accuracy would help raise this score.
