Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by identifying causes and solutions, but the development is weak and often unclear. The arguments regarding why people over 50 struggle to find work—such as 'lack of time' or 'no more power'—are not logically explained or supported with relevant evidence. The examples provided, such as the mention of America, are vague and do not effectively illustrate the point. The position is somewhat contradictory, as you suggest older people should 'take rest' rather than focusing on how to solve the employment difficulties they face. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a clear, well-reasoned argument that directly answers the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is frequently interrupted by unclear transitions and confusing sentence structures. While some cohesive devices like 'First' and 'Moreover' are used, they are often followed by ideas that do not logically connect to the previous statement. Referencing is sometimes ambiguous, making it difficult for the reader to follow your train of thought. To improve, focus on using linking words that accurately reflect the relationship between your ideas, and ensure each sentence builds clearly upon the one before it.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive, which restricts your ability to express complex ideas. There are several instances of awkward word choices and incorrect collocations, such as 'take decisions on right time' and 'give a valuable time for reputed company'. These errors occasionally make the meaning difficult to grasp. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary, including topic-specific collocations related to employment and age-related issues, and ensure that your word choices are precise and appropriate for an academic context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'a man have a good ability'), article usage, and sentence construction. Complex sentence structures are attempted but are often faulty, leading to confusion. For example, the sentence 'Hence, proper guideline will be produce more opportunities...' contains multiple errors in verb tense and structure. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence patterns and ensuring subject-verb agreement, before attempting more complex structures. Proofreading for basic errors in tense and word order would also be highly beneficial.
