Student answer (Band 6.0)
In various countries, people above the age of 50 faces difficulties in finding jobs despite of having good experience. It can be because of the working speed, adapting with the fast pace of evolving technology. Some measures like employing them in the sectors which involves critical thinking and decision making.
Most of the industries today are facing a high levels of competition due to that they have to manage the pace of the employees in the firm to overcome other competitors. In order to achieve this, their employees too should be fast paced, more oriented and technologically advanced. As people above 50 years of age are habitual of working in a similar manner and faces challenges in changing the way they work also working with technology is a hurdle to them.
They can be involved in the decision, policy making or documentation processes. As individuals above 50 have a upper hand in tasks like these because of the ability to keep calm and composed in tense situations they are able to make better decisions which can be beneficial to the firm.
Generally, I have observed that higher positions like CEO, board of directors comprises mostly elder individuals as these posts require much more complex problem solving, decision making capabilities and because of their experience. In order to keep the company on safer side and profitable too.
In conclusion, elder individuals should apply for jobs which does not require too much technology, continues work or jobs which involves record keeping . As they are much more experienced then the other younger employees they can handle tasks like these more proficiently.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: causes and solutions. However, the development is somewhat limited. The causes (technological pace and speed) are mentioned but not deeply explored. The solutions are also somewhat generic, suggesting older workers should only do 'record keeping' or 'documentation,' which could be seen as a narrow view of their potential. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific examples or elaborate on how these measures would be implemented in a real-world context. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments lack the depth required for a higher score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive. For example, the transition 'In order to achieve this' is used, but there is a lack of sophisticated linking words to connect ideas between sentences. Some sentences feel disjointed, such as the opening paragraph where the second sentence is a fragment. Improving the flow between sentences and using a wider variety of cohesive devices would significantly improve the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range expected at higher levels. You rely on basic phrases like 'good jobs' and 'fast paced.' There are also some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'habitual of working' (should be 'accustomed to') and 'elder individuals' (usually 'older adults' or 'older workers'). While the meaning is clear, the lack of more sophisticated or academic vocabulary limits the score. Try to incorporate more topic-specific collocations related to employment and technology.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('people... faces', 'board of directors comprises'), incorrect preposition usage ('despite of'), and sentence fragments ('It can be because of...'). While you attempt some complex structures, they are often marred by these errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and a finite verb. Reducing these frequent errors is essential for moving into the 7.0+ range.
