Student answer (Band 5.0)
It's known that in some countries, people over 50 years old are more unlucky to get good jobs despite their experience. there are plenty of reasons that can be behind this issue. And that's what i'm going to discuss in my essay.
On the first side, bosses think that a person in this age is just looking for a job to spend their time there and he won't be serious about his job, beacause they had already worked in several companies and different professions. for instance, in the average, someone in the age of 50, is already has a family and a stable life, and most of time they are retired, so people who are hiring think that this work is something extra in that person life.
On the other side, most of people over 50 years old are not in line with the current technology, and the majority of the wold now is dealing with it and rely on it totally, sometime companies find unlimited problems withthat matter, and all of their business don't develop, in contrast if they employe youth people. For example, old people can not expertise Microsoft skills, using AI and invent new ideas that can lead to development and modernity.
As a result, people over 50 years old must be more talented, more serious and try to keep up with our current world.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt (causes and solutions), but the development is insufficient. The ideas regarding technological gaps and employer perceptions are relevant but lack depth and specific evidence. Furthermore, the essay fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, as it is only 228 words long. This under-length significantly impacts the ability to fully develop arguments, leading to a superficial treatment of the topic. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations and examples, ensuring you meet the length requirement to allow for a more comprehensive discussion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally awkward, such as 'On the first side' and 'On the other side', which are not standard academic transitions. The progression of ideas is logical, but the lack of sufficient supporting detail makes the overall flow feel disjointed. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the connection between sentences could be strengthened by using a wider variety of linking words to improve the overall coherence of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. There are several instances of unnatural phrasing, such as 'more unlucky to get good jobs' and 'in the average'. Additionally, there are spelling errors like 'wold' instead of 'world' and 'employe' instead of 'employ'. While the meaning is generally clear, the limited range of vocabulary and the reliance on basic descriptors prevent the essay from demonstrating a more sophisticated command of the language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'a person in this age is just looking', 'someone in the age of 50, is already has', and 'all of their business don't develop'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage and capitalization. While the errors do not completely obscure the meaning, they are frequent enough to demonstrate a lack of control over complex structures, which is a key requirement for higher bands.
