Student answer (Band 5.0)

In this world has large number of states but in few states have a rule the government does not provide any kind of job for those people have 50 above age. While these countries have high amount of poverty because lack of jobs.

Firstly, in every country live a lot of individuals and each person need good job for the expenses of life. But all over the world have many states and government thought that if they provide jobs those males or females their age is around 50 years then the country faces many kinds of problems. Similarly, the old age people are the source of spreading dangerous diseases like heart diseases and cough disease. But this statement is totally wrong because there are no such diseases are spread only through touch and breath. For instance, in 1999 the government of Japan took big decision for their nation while they provide all types of jobs for locals. Whatever, if the old age individuals do not have any jobs, then their lives are full of difficulties and worries.

Secondly, if government of each state has focus to keep some measure for their nation like provide different opportunities of jobs and works for every young or old human then each person is able to live a happy life. However, money is very crucial thing to live a good life, and all people have their own rights. So, if the locals that age is above 50 then they are able to bear the expense of their lives and bear the expenses of their children education.

In conclusion, the government has need to take care of their nation and there have a lot of benefits for the production of good jobs in every fields. Furthermore, in any country has large number of poor people then the government has responsibility to provide some extra funds.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by identifying causes, such as government misconceptions regarding health and older workers, and proposes measures like providing job opportunities and financial support. However, the development of ideas is limited and sometimes confused. For instance, the claim that older people 'are the source of spreading dangerous diseases like heart diseases and cough disease' is underdeveloped and inaccurate, and the example regarding Japan in 1999 lacks specific, relevant context. While a position is discernible throughout the essay, the arguments lack depth and rely on over-generalised statements. Therefore, the response aligns best with the criteria for a band 5.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay displays some basic organisation with the use of transitional markers such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion'. However, there is a lack of clear overall progression and logical flow, making the argument difficult to follow at times. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion is frequently faulty and mechanical. Referencing is often unclear, as seen in confusing sentences like 'if the locals that age is above 50 then they are able to bear the expense'. Repetitive phrasing and inadequate linking devices pull down the overall structure of the text, fitting the band 5 descriptor.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently impeded by inaccurate word choices and word-formation errors. Examples include phrases like 'high amount of poverty', 'each person need good job', and 'production of good jobs'. The student attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'crucial thing' and 'responsiblity', but these are handled with noticeable errors that cause difficulty for the reader. The lexical range is limited and minimally adequate for expressing simple ideas, which corresponds to a band 5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response exhibits a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and faulty attempts at complex forms. There are frequent grammatical and punctuation errors throughout the text that cause considerable difficulty for the reader and occasionally distort the meaning. Examples of errors include subject-verb agreement issues ('the government has need'), preposition misuse ('in few states have a rule'), and tense inconsistencies. The frequency of structural inaccuracies prevents the response from achieving a higher band score, placing it firmly at band 4.0.
