Student answer (Band 5.0)

In many contries, it is much difficult to get a good job after the age of 50. This problem can be considered as one of the biggest issues of the 21st century. I believe that unemployment and poor government policies are the root causes this issue, and how through providing jobs effective government planning, this problem can be curtailed.

There are multiple causes associated with finding good jobs. Firstly , poor enconomic condition is to blame. As a country don't have a stable economic condition and have less vacency of jobs. Take an example of Nepal, it is expected that in 2028, Nepal will not have job for 80% of after age of 50 people because Nepal faces many financial crices. Thus, economical condition is the main force behind this issue.

Secondly, ineffective planning by the government can also be labeled as a leading effect. As weak laws and regulations can indeed increase this problem. For instance, it is expected that by the year 2035, Russia don't have any vacency of job because the weak government laws and regulations Russia don't have further job for 50 plus people. Thus, poor government planning can have a negative effect on people.

However, there are certain solutions available to solve this problem. The primary solution, I believe, would be a stable econimic condition of a country. As if the economy of a country is strong than the jobs are always available for every age of people.

Furthermore, another effective solution would be to improve government laws and regulations to improve the situation.

To sum up, even though the poor economic condition and poor government policies are the widespread in many socities, I believe that through stable economy and effective planning, this problem can be curtailed.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the causes of the problem (poor economic conditions and ineffective government planning) and offering solutions (stable economy and improved regulations). However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the examples given for Nepal and Russia are unconvincing and rely on unsubstantiated predictions rather than realistic analysis or genuine evidence. While a clear position is maintained throughout the essay, the arguments lack depth and rely on sweeping generalizations rather than well-supported points. This places the response comfortably at Band 5.0 for Task Achievement, as it partially addresses the task with ideas that remain somewhat under-developed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is divided into five paragraphs, showing a clear structural attempt with an introduction, body paragraphs addressing causes and solutions, and a conclusion. However, progression is somewhat hindered by repetitive phrasing and a mechanical use of cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Thus'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and paragraphing could be managed more effectively to group related ideas together. For example, separating the causes into two distinct paragraphs works, but the solutions are fragmented and brief. Overall arrangement is coherent enough to follow, but logical links between sentences occasionally falter, leading to a Band 5.5 score under Coherence and Cohesion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, but it remains fairly limited and repetitive, with frequent reliance on basic words and phrases such as 'good job', 'problem', and 'economic condition'. There are noticeable lexical errors and spelling mistakes throughout the text, including 'contries' instead of countries, 'enconomic' instead of economic, 'vacency' instead of vacancy, 'crices' instead of crises, and 'socities' instead of societies. While attempts are made to use less common vocabulary like 'curtailed' and 'ineffective planning', the frequent inaccuracies in word choice and spelling occasionally cause slight strain for the reader. This performance aligns with the Band 5.0 descriptors for Lexical Resource.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but attempts at complex structures are frequently faulty and contain grammatical errors. For example, sentences such as 'As a country don't have a stable economic condition' and 'Russia don't have any vacency of job because the weak government laws' exhibit subject-verb agreement issues and misuse of conjunctions. Punctuation errors are also present, such as unnecessary commas before punctuation marks (e.g., 'Firstly ,'). Frequent errors in grammar and tense consistency cause some difficulty for the reader, although meaning is generally retrievable. These characteristics reflect a Band 5.0 level for Grammatical Range and Accuracy.
