Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, in some countries their is a trend to give the job to younger people instead of people over the age of 50 even they have a alot of working experience. In this eassy we will discuss of both problems and solution and i will also give my opinion.

On the one hand, its the rule and law of the companies to give the job only younger people that age below 45 years. The particular reason for circumtances is that the younger individuals are more active and efficient as compare to older one. For instance we see the people have a age below 45 are more physically fit and do more work even also doing a two or three jobs in the day .

On the other hand, it cause alot of problems for older citizens when they cross the age of 50 and not get a job. it leads to poverty and other issues. The solution is that the government should give the certain amount of money to the citizens when thy cross the age of 45 so they easily invest the money in different type of businesses .For example with the help of money eldery people open their grocery shop and its not a hard work also. Additionally, the government should introduce that type of jobs that suits the eldery individuals so they easily do their job in their own work field. For example in some countries their higher authorities anually open the vacancies for eldery and disable citizens and its a positive impact.

To sum up everything that has been stated so far Government keep check and balance about eldery people life and make the law for the people over the age of 50 so they feel independent and spend their remaining life in good way.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both causes of employment difficulties for people over 50 and suggesting measures to solve the problem, such as government financial support and targeted job creation. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on causes relies heavily on a general assertion that younger workers are more physically fit, stating that 'the younger individuals are more active and efficient as compare to older one.' While a clear position is maintained throughout, the supporting examples lack depth and evidence. The explanation of solutions tends to over-generalize, such as suggesting elders open a grocery shop as it is 'not a hard work also.' Overall, the task is addressed adequately, but the arguments would benefit from greater elaboration to achieve a higher band score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt at paragraphing, utilizing standard introductory, body, and concluding sections. However, the organizational structure suffers from several noticeable flaws. Cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or faultily applied, as seen in phrases like 'On the one hand, its the rule and law of the companies' and the abrupt transition into the conclusion using 'To sum up everything that has been stated so far'. Furthermore, referencing is occasionally unclear, and logical progression between sentences is disrupted by mechanical transitions and poor punctuation. While paragraphs are used to separate ideas, the internal flow within paragraphs requires more sophisticated linking words and better referencing to secure a higher band score.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the student to communicate basic ideas about employment and ageism. However, the range is limited and repetitive, with frequent reliance on basic words and phrases such as 'good jobs', 'younger people', and 'older citizens'. There are also several noticeable word choice and collocation errors, such as 'alot of working experience' instead of 'a lot of work experience', 'in this eassy', and 'elderly and disable citizens'. Spelling mistakes occur throughout the text, including 'eassy', 'alot', 'circumtances', 'ately', 'eldery', and 'anually'. Although these lexical errors and limitations do not completely impede communication, they restrict the lexical score to the band 5 level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar and punctuation is weak. There are frequent basic grammatical errors throughout the text, such as missing articles ('give the job', 'open their grocery shop'), incorrect subject-verb agreement or auxiliary usage ('their is a trend', 'even they have', 'its the rule'), and punctuation failures. Prepositional and word-form errors are also common, for example, 'age below 45 years', 'as compare to', and 'government keep check and balance'. Complex sentence attempts often contain structural flaws and punctuation breakdowns, making the reader work harder to follow the meaning. While some simple sentences are error-free, the frequency of basic grammatical inaccuracies places this response firmly at band 5.
