Student answer (Band 5.0)

Argue that the poeple who are over the age of 50 get good jobs can be difficult, despite their. As the study upgraded within every 5 years so their studies become useless at that time. From my perspective, the main cause of this problem is compnies think that a person's ability of thinking become worthless after the age of 50. The solution of this problem is poeple have give a chance to olders to show their ability of working as much of persons even at the age of over 50 are much energetic than youngers.

Firstly, older people become jobless because the companies think that their sense of humour and ability to do work are decrease at the age of over fifty. As the companies want more and more work and they know that the older cann't do their increasingly so they prefer youngers. The adults have much more energy than older adults so they have much more chances to get job and it can be very difficult to get good jobs.

For example, if a company need a cashier, so try to find fresh graduates as they know that such persons can do their increasingly and olders even having a high experience can make a delay in their work.

However, the companies should give a chance to olders to show their ability to do work. As the older persons have much more experience than youngers, the people should realize their performance. The government should also perfer older people over fresh garduates and introduce a program in which older people have higher ranking jobs.

For instance, if a company need a manager, it should perfer olders over youngers as the people have a lot of exprience and can do their work accurately.

In conclusion, the companies perfer youngers than olders due their fast work. It became a problem for older adults as they become jobless in that age in which they need a lot money. In my opinion, government prefer older than youngers due to experience.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the task by identifying causes, such as companies believing older workers have declining abilities, and suggesting measures, such as government programs and giving older workers a chance to prove themselves. However, the development of ideas is limited and sometimes repetitive. For instance, the discussion around cashiers and managers makes similar points about work speed versus experience without expanding into broader socioeconomic factors. The position is stated but remains somewhat simplistic throughout the essay. Because all parts of the prompt are addressed with relevant ideas, it meets the criteria for Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, including an introduction, two body paragraphs focusing on causes and solutions respectively, and a conclusion, which provides a basic overall structure. However, logical progression is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions and confusing phrasing, such as starting paragraphs abruptly. Cohesive devices are used mechanically and sometimes incorrectly, such as the repeated use of 'As' and 'For example'. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, making it hard to follow the flow of arguments. Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion falls short of Band 6, placing this firmly at Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and repetitive, with frequent reliance on basic terms like 'youngers', 'olders', 'good jobs', and 'ability of working'. There are noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'sense of humour' used instead of cognitive sharpness, and 'perfer' instead of prefer. Spelling mistakes are also present, including 'poeple' and 'compnies'. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the general topic, these errors and the lack of a wider, flexible lexical range restrict the score to Band 4.5, rounded to Band 5.0 based on general communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but these attempts are frequently faulty and obscure meaning. Examples of grammatical errors include 'Argue that the poeple who are over the age of 50 get good jobs can be difficult, despite their' and 'the companies want more and more work and they know that the older cann't do their increasingly so they prefer youngers.' Subject-verb agreement errors, incorrect verb forms, and awkward phrasing occur throughout the text. These frequent errors cause significant difficulty for the reader and prevent the grammar from reaching Band 6.
