IELTS Writing Task 2 question

In some countries, it can be very difficult for people over the age of 50 to get good jobs, despite their experience.

What do you think are the causes of this problem, and what measures could be taken to solve it?

Student answer (Band 5.5)

In numerous countries, employment has become more challenging for people who are over 50 years old, despite their extensive experiences. This essay will examine the primary causes underlying this issue and give effective measures to address it.

One of the major causes behind this problem is that people aged 50 and older are sometimes suffering from serious health issues and less energy. This is mainly because they do not have the ability to work properly due to their age factor. In addition, they are not enthusiastic enough to meet the deadlines for the projects. Therefore, despite their extensive experiences they can not able to get a good employment. Another main cause is that these days young generation are more eager and talented and can work exceptionally well due to more advancement in technology. Therefore,they may get good jobs as compare to older people.

One of the effective majors to adress this issue is that companies should introduce special workplaces to engage people aged 50 and above. The main reason is that due to their age these people may able to be able to work in physically demanding place. Moreover, they may have enough experience to help companies in an effective way. Another solution is that government should introduce latest technological programs to people who are above 50 years old and help them to get their training from home. This approach may help them to get advance technology education and help difference companies.
