Student answer (Band 5.0)
In some nations, despite having experience it is very difficult for elderly people to get good jobs.It is because many employers prefer efficient and fast work worker. However, this problem can be solved if goverments issues some policies for the elderly or provide them some easy job.
Many individuals think that to get great results in the work the worker should be faster and efficent rather than experienced and I think it is the main reason why residents over the age of 50 have diffculties in finding job.Compare to young unexperiencd workers older workers do thier job slow due to lack of physical power. For instance if a merchant needs to make some delivery within the deadline he will prefer young worker for this job, so that it will complete easily before the deadline.
To solve this problem government can take many measures such as establishing new policies, providing them the work which they can do in that age. This is not the perfect solution for the problem, but it can provide job to the most of the people who can not find job after 50. They can give better results in the job in which they are good and due to new policies people have to coperate with them. For example ,many elder give life lesson to young kids in many societies.
To conclude, despite having experience it is very difficult for elderly people to get good jobs.It is mainly because employers hire the workers who are efficient and fast . However, many measures can be taken by the goverment like issuing some policies for the elderly or providing them the job which do not require much efforts and power.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying causes such as employers preferring faster, younger workers, and suggesting measures like government policies and alternative jobs suitable for older people. However, the ideas are somewhat limited and under-developed, relying on repetitive arguments rather than deeply explored examples. For instance, the example of a merchant needing to make a delivery within a deadline is simplistic. The position is clear throughout, but the development lacks the depth and fully elaborated support required for higher bands. Overall, it aligns well with the Band 5 descriptor.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay is divided into logical paragraphs, including an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing a basic overall structure. However, progression is sometimes hindered by repetitive ideas and mechanical links. Cohesive devices are used, but they are basic and occasionally repetitive (e.g., 'To solve this problem', 'To conclude'). Referencing is mostly clear, though some transitions feel abrupt. Paragraphing is present and generally appropriate, but the internal logical flow within paragraphs could be improved to achieve a higher score. This sits comfortably at Band 5.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, but it is basic and repetitive. Words like 'experience', 'difficult', 'job', and 'efficient' are used repeatedly without much variation. There are also notable lexical errors and awkward collocations, such as 'provide them some easy job', 'unexperiencd workers', and 'did not require much efforts and power'. While the meaning is generally clear, the range is limited and noticeable errors occur, which matches the Band 5 descriptor.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay displays a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, such as conditional and relative clauses ('if a merchant needs to make some delivery...'). However, frequent grammatical errors are present throughout the text, including missing articles ('goverments issues some policies', 'elder give life lesson'), punctuation errors, and subject-verb agreement issues ('worker should be faster', 'workers do thier job slow'). These frequent errors can cause some difficulty for the reader, though they do not completely impede overall communication. This performance reflects Band 5.
