Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

The response fails to meet the minimum length requirement of 250 words, containing only 81 words. Because of this severe restriction, the writing only minimally addresses the prompt. While the student attempts to touch upon the causes of employment difficulties for those over 50, such as age discrimination and energy concerns, the ideas remain extremely limited and underdeveloped. There is no clear position established or supported with relevant evidence or examples, resulting in a response that addresses the task only partially and tangentially.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

The essay lacks clear overall progression and organisation, which is largely exacerbated by its extreme brevity. Although the student attempts transitional phrases like 'firstly', the ideas are disjointed and trail off abruptly, such as the incomplete sentence ending with 'however health realted like eye sigth and other'. Paragraphing is poorly handled, and cohesive devices are inadequate and repetitive, making it difficult for the reader to follow a logical thread of argument from introduction to conclusion.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with numerous spelling and word-form errors that strain the reader. Examples of lexical weakness include misspellings and misused terms such as 'significntly', 'thougth', 'consideral', 'experinece', 'consinder', 'assay', 'opprtunities', and 'sigth'. The student attempts to use some topic-related vocabulary like 'discrimination', but the limited range and frequent errors in spelling and word choice prevent successful communication of more complex ideas.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical range is very limited, consisting primarily of faulty attempts at sentence structures. There are frequent errors in word order, subject-verb agreement, and missing articles or prepositions, such as in 'In nation is significntly hard to secure good job over 50'. Punctuation is largely neglected, with missing capitalisation and periods, creating run-on thoughts. These persistent errors frequently impede communication and prevent the formation of clear, grammatically sound complex sentences.
