Student answer (Band 5.5)
In many counteries , people above the age of 50 are facing many problems to get a secure job, even if they have many years of experience. This situation happens because of several reasons and some measures can be taken to reduce this issue which will be given in following paragraph.
People over the age of 50 will not be given chance to get a good and secure job due to the latest technology which is difficult and some times impossible for olders to adopt .Young generation and newly graduates can use these technologies very fastly and quickly.Secondly older peoplesw had job experience and they demands more salary than younger .Companies pay low salary to newely jobians and save their money ,also they trained them according to their company requirements .So budget is also a crucial factor for older people.
Talking about the solutions, the government should provide training programmes for people over 50 so they can learn new skills and stay updated with the current job market. This would help them compete more fairly. In addition, companies should create special positions that value experience, such as advisory roles or mentoring positions, where older workers can guide younger staff. To illustrate, many countries already have schemes where senior employees work part-time but still contribute their knowledge to the workplace. Furthermore, raising awareness about age discrimination can also help reduce this problem.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the task by identifying causes, such as technological changes and salary expectations, and offering measures like government training and mentoring. However, the ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed, lacking detailed elaboration or extensive examples. Furthermore, the response falls short of the word count requirement, coming in at 230 words rather than the minimum 250 words, which impacts the overall completeness of the task achievement.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the content into an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'Secondly', 'In addition', and 'Furthermore' are used to connect ideas, though some referencing and transitions can feel a bit mechanical. Paragraphing is used, but the introduction is noticeably brief, linking directly into the body without a clear division, reflecting a solid structure that falls just short of a fully smooth progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is minimally adequate for the task, with an attempt to use less common items and subject-specific terms like 'discrimination', 'mentoring', and 'advisory roles'. However, there are noticeable lexical errors, awkward word choices, and spelling mistakes such as 'counteries', 'olders', 'fastly', 'peoplesw', and 'newely jobians'. These errors do not completely impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score due to inaccuracies in word formation and collocation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writer demonstrates a mix of simple and some complex sentence forms, such as 'In many counteries, people above the age of 50 are facing...' and 'the government should provide training programmes... so they can learn new skills'. However, there are frequent errors in grammar, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions, such as 'they demands', 'older peoplesw had job experience', and punctuation issues around commas. These grammatical lapses mean that while communication is generally maintained, control is inconsistent.
