Student answer (Band 5.5)

There are many countries in which it is quite tough to get good job opportunities though they have enough experience in their field.

There are so many reasons behind this problems. I will discuss that in upcoming pragraphs and will also explain some ways to solve this.

first and foremost reason is health. With the time and with the age pearson get so many health issues. There are so many issues we can observe in olg age people and most commons are diabetis, blood pressure , dementia and parkinson. and those issues will chalange them physically and mentally.old people may not work as efficiently as young people so company may face delays in work or may need extra force and because of that so many companies does not hire old people.

In continue with that the one more reason is way of thinking. Although old people have more experience, young generation knows how to work smartly and in short time. there is one study conducted recently in which they have done the survey that who done their work more quickly young people or old people. According to their result it shows that younger one finish their jobs so quickly.

According to me though companies has many drawbacks of hiring old people, when company will stuck at some serious issues old people's experience going to help them to come out of their problems. That is one serious issue that old peoplea are facing of not getting jobs and there are solution of this problem we should consider.

Government shoulg make a strict rule for companies to hire some percentage of employees who are more than 50.And companies should take care of their employees health issues also companies should arrange some short of activities in which all age group can participate so both generation people can share their ideas in that way they tend to get knowb each others ideas very well.

In conclusion, I have tried to discuss my point of views on both side. Old people and their experience is as important as young people's courage.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both the causes of employment difficulties for people over fifty and potential measures to solve the issue. However, the development of ideas is uneven. While the causes—such as health concerns and generational working styles—are introduced, they remain somewhat under-developed and rely on general assertions rather than robust examples or evidence. For instance, the mention of a recent study regarding young versus old workers lacks specific detail. The measures proposed, such as government quotas and company activities, are relevant but briefly presented. The position is generally clear throughout, but the overall extension of ideas sits comfortably within a standard intermediate tier where some points are explored more fully than others.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a discernible progression of ideas from causes to solutions, supported by an introduction and conclusion. However, the logical flow is occasionally disrupted by mechanical or faulty cohesion, such as abrupt transitions between paragraphs and repetitive referencing. Paragraphing is attempted, but some paragraphs are very brief and lack internal unity. The use of cohesive devices is sometimes basic or inaccurate, as seen in phrases like "In continue with that". While the structure is easy enough to follow overall, the management of cohesive ties and paragraphing requires greater flexibility and control to achieve higher standards.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, providing enough range to communicate basic ideas about employment and age. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as "efficiently", "dementia", and "parkinson", but this is accompanied by noticeable spelling errors, such as "pearson" for person, "olg" for old, "diabetis", "chalange", "knowb", and "shoulg". Word choice and word formation are also occasionally imprecise, which reflects a limited control of lexical features. While communication is not severely impeded, these frequent mechanical slips in spelling and lexical accuracy restrict the score to a modest level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer demonstrates a mix of simple and some complex sentence forms, attempting structures like conditional and relative clauses. However, there is a limited range of reliable structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty. There are persistent errors in grammar and punctuation, including missing articles ("the one more reason"), subject-verb agreement issues ("though companies has", "old peoplea are facing"), incorrect prepositions, and poor punctuation control, such as run-on sentences and missing capitalization. Although these errors rarely impede overall communication, their frequency across basic patterns indicates that sentence control remains restricted.
