Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, unemployment in aged people is increased. In some countries they face difficulty in finding a good job, despite serving for years. This is mainly because companies mainly employ young people, as they are more energetic and active.
First of all, people above the age of 50 years are less physically fit and energetic. That's why companies prefer to employ young people instead of them. The young and energetic people can work for long hours without being tired.
Moreover, the aged people less know about the advanced technology. They are unable to use the computers and different softwares which are nowadays most companies have. Companies nowadays, hire employee who can perform many tasks within a limited amount of time. For example, a young boy who can run social media campaigns and knows modern editing software well, will likely to secure a job in media company as compared to an older one.
Beside all these reasons, aged people should be employed. Governments should educate them about modern technology. Countries should make laws and regulations about their jobs. For example, governments can make rule that about 10% employee in should be over the age of 50.
In conclusion, unemployment of aged people is due to they are less energetic and have little knowledge about usage of modern technology but these problems can be solved by educating them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify two relevant causes—employers’ preference for younger workers and older applicants’ limited familiarity with technology—and suggest training and employment rules. The example of a young media applicant helps illustrate the technology point. However, the response addresses the task only partially: the proposed measures are brief and not fully explained, and the conclusion focuses on education while leaving the suggested employment quota undeveloped. The position is understandable, but the causes and solutions need more specific support, such as explaining how training could be delivered or how employers could be encouraged to value experience. The response is also 25 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop these ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction, paragraphs on causes and solutions, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “First of all,” “Moreover,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, progression is limited because the solutions are compressed into one short paragraph and are not clearly connected to the causes they address. Some linking is repetitive or awkward, particularly “Beside all these reasons,” which does not clearly introduce the proposed measures. The conclusion repeats the causes but does not summarise both solutions. To improve, give each main point a clear role, connect each measure explicitly to a problem, and use referencing and transitions more precisely.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “energetic,” “advanced technology,” “social media campaigns,” and “laws and regulations.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are noticeably inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning less natural. Examples include “unemployment in aged people,” “the aged people less know,” and “usage of modern technology.” “Softwares” is also an incorrect plural form. Repeated use of “young,” “people,” and “companies” further restricts variety. Aim to learn common employment collocations and use more precise terms for older workers, digital skills, and hiring practices; this will make the argument clearer and more appropriately formal.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response relies mainly on simple sentence patterns, with a few attempts at longer structures, such as the sentence beginning “For example, a young boy who can run social media campaigns…” These attempts show some range, but errors are frequent and can make parts of the text difficult to follow. For instance, “Nowadays, unemployment in aged people is increased” has an awkward tense construction, while “will likely to secure” uses an incorrect verb pattern. There are also errors in articles, agreement, and sentence structure, as in “make rule that about 10% employee in should be over the age of 50.” Practise building accurate complex sentences and check verb forms, singular/plural agreement, and article use before submitting.
