Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question by identifying employers’ demand for technological skills and proposing training and a change of work field. Your position is clear: older workers can respond by updating their skills. The example contrasting paper files with computer-based work helps explain the first cause. However, some ideas are less fully supported than others. The claim that older people are “less motivated and active” is broad and risks presenting an assumption as a general fact; explain why employers may perceive this or support it with a specific example. The proposed career change is also brief and does not explain how workers could access suitable roles. Develop these points with clearer reasoning and practical detail.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for causes and solutions, and a conclusion. Sequencing is generally easy to follow, and signposts such as “One of the major reasons,” “First of all,” and “In conclusion” make the stages of the argument clear. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some movement towards more flexible cohesion. However, transitions can feel mechanical, and some links between claims are abrupt—for example, the move from low motivation to health concerns. The phrase “Another measurement” also does not clearly signal a solution. Use more precise referencing and connect each example explicitly to the point it supports, rather than relying mainly on formulaic transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “technological skills,” “job requirements,” “digitalization,” “competencies,” and “modern industry.” These choices allow you to discuss the issue and its solutions, and you attempt some less common expressions. However, inaccurate word choice and collocation are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less natural: “stack their data in files,” “less caring,” and “resist this problem” do not express the intended ideas precisely. There are also spelling errors such as “availabe” and “swtiching.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations and check spelling carefully. For instance, use “store data in files,” “less motivated,” and “address this problem.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including contrast with “however” and a relative clause in “a job which does not need complex work abilities.” The main ideas are generally understandable, but errors in sentence construction and verb forms are frequent enough to affect fluency. Examples include “This may be cause of,” “less motivated at work,” and “elderly employees must need to upgrades themselves”; these require more accurate articles, sentence structure, and verb patterns. Agreement and clause construction also need attention in “almost every work is need to be done” and “Another reason is ageing people are usually less motivated.” Practise building accurate sentences around one main clause, then check subject–verb agreement and the form of verbs after modal verbs.
