Student answer (Band 5.0)

In many nations, it can be very difficult for individuals over the age of 50 to get jobs, despite their experience. There are some causes and problems, i think companies prefer young citizen than old people. Other is that goverment apply their policy and did not work the above fifty ages people.

There are many causes but the main problem is that the companies higher mostly young pople and those people which are better know to skills and technology. Furthermore, companies know that old people did not learn about technology easily, but adults individuals learn easily and soon about the technology. In addition mostly people have experience but they did not expert of technology. These reasons old citizen did not get jobs. For instance, when companies should higher old people but they did not work well because lack of awareness of automates technology.

There are some solution of these problem, many old ages people face these due to the government policy, because government install their privacy and companies follow these rules and do not gave jobs to old ages people. By contrast, government should take many steps and improve these problems. they should open many trainning centers where mature people get trainning and get jobs in other company, but some countries do not allow their individuals work in old age, because they do pay their monthly income without any work. For example, some society gave jobs to their old people in gardens, because they planted the water to plants.

In conclusion, the most companies gave the jobs to adults people which know about the technology, the solution is that government should apply the tranning centers which are helpfull for older people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both parts of the question by identifying employers’ preference for younger workers and proposing training centres for older people. The point about technology is relevant, and the example of older workers needing training gives it some support. However, the causes and solutions are only partly explained. The claim that government policies prevent people over 50 from getting jobs is unclear, and the later point about some countries paying older people monthly income does not show how this causes the employment problem. Your position is also not fully clear: the conclusion repeats the training-centre proposal but does not bring the causes and measures together. Explain how each cause operates and make each proposed measure directly address it.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, one on solutions, and a conclusion. This helps readers identify the main stages of your answer. You also use linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “In addition,” and “By contrast.” However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, particularly where the discussion shifts from government policy to monthly income and then to garden jobs. Some links are not logical or precise; “By contrast” does not clearly introduce the next idea, and “These reasons” refers back to several points without clarifying their relationship. Organise each body paragraph around one main point, then explain and illustrate it before moving on.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “experience,” “technology,” “government policy,” and “training centers,” so the general subject is usually understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make ideas unclear, such as “companies higher mostly young people,” “better know to skills,” and “install their privacy.” Repetition of “old people,” “jobs,” and “technology” also limits precision. Spelling and word-form errors, including “goverment,” “trainning,” and “helpfull,” further reduce control. Build a more accurate set of employment-related phrases and check whether each word fits its context; for example, distinguish between hiring workers, providing training, and setting retirement policies.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “because” and “when,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in verb forms and agreement appear in examples such as “companies higher mostly young people,” “government apply,” and “they did not gave jobs.” Articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries also need attention: “the above fifty ages people” and “they should open many trainning centers” show problems with noun phrases, while “they should open…” begins a new sentence after a full stop but is not capitalised. These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas hard to interpret. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add one subordinate clause at a time, checking subject–verb agreement and tense.
