Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is a controversial statement that in some countries, it can be very difficult for people over the age of 50 to get good jobs, despite their experience.
I agree with the statement that people have the right to work after the age of 50.
On the one hand, people who are agree with the statement because they think people in their 50's become physically less active than younger peoples and also many companies prefers younger candidates over the older candidates do to their fresh mind and higher energy levels. Furthermore, many believe that older persons are not eager to learn new things. In countries like US peoples get retired at that age, so new people can come to work.
On the other hand, other aspects of society that are disagree with the statement believe that it is an individual choice for how much age till a person is willing to work. It avoids them from financial dependence on others. Infact, In country like India peoples are allowed to apply for government jobs till the age of 43 years. For instance, In Asian countries peoples generally work for 60 years as average and it considered as an good compliment their work experience.
Various measures can we take to tackle this problem is that we can provide specific good jobs in companies private and government that experienced persons of higher age can perform.
It can be concluded that people of over the age of 50 faces challenges despite of experiences but this issue can be solved by providing specific reserved posts in companies.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the issue and offer a possible measure—reserving suitable posts for experienced older workers—but the response only partially addresses the task. The causes are mentioned, including employers’ preference for younger applicants and assumptions that older people are less willing to learn, yet these points are not explained or supported with clear examples. The discussion also shifts between agreeing that people should be able to work and describing views that appear to disagree, so your own position is not consistently clear. The proposed solution is brief and does not explain how reserved posts would be implemented or address the stated causes. The response is 240 words, below the required 250; the 22 words copied from the prompt are excluded from that count. Develop each part of the question more fully and make your position explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
Your response has a basic structure, with an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand” and “It can be concluded” help signal the stages of the essay. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow because the two sides are not clearly connected to your own view, and the second body paragraph combines individual choice, financial independence and country-specific retirement or employment examples without showing how they relate. Some transitions are also inaccurate or mechanical, particularly “Various measures can we take.” To improve, organise the essay around the task’s two parts—causes and solutions—and use clear topic sentences and references that show how each example supports the point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “physically less active,” “financial dependence,” “government jobs” and “work experience.” This gives the reader a basic understanding of your ideas. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, which sometimes makes meaning less clear. For example, “fresh mind” is not a natural way to describe younger applicants’ perceived advantage, and “an good compliment their work experience” does not express a clear idea. Repeated use of “people,” “jobs” and “companies” also limits precision. Build a more accurate range around age discrimination, recruitment, skills and retirement, and check collocations and word forms when revising.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a sentence beginning “Furthermore” and a contrast introduced by “On the other hand.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors in agreement, articles and sentence construction can make the argument difficult to follow. Examples include “people who are agree,” “many companies prefers,” “people over the age of 50 faces,” and “it considered as an good compliment.” Some sentences also lack a clear grammatical relationship between their parts, as in “other aspects of society that are disagree with the statement believe…”. Practise forming complete clauses and checking subject–verb agreement, articles and verb forms. Clearer, shorter sentences would help you communicate your ideas more reliably.
