Student answer (Band 5.5)
People after reaching at the age of 50, find difficult to get a job even though having good experience they face such issues, this practice can be seen in most of the country. The main problem is the age factor which plays a major role to support their body functioning. If their job is related to involvement of physical activities then it can be an issue. orelse elderly people can be used prior to their experience.
To begin with, people today are holding lot of experience but they couldn't be able to find suitable job to excel themselves in that position. That is because some jobs require physical strenght inorder to work despite having prior experience, they cannot push themselves to work for those long hours as it require agility, flexibility and stamina which is not suitable in that age. For example, jobs like fireman, construction worker and policeman they usually require alot of physical strength. Which is the reason many middle aged people find difficult to find a job.
Moreover, there are other jobs which does not involve much physical activity they only require supervision as well as good experience to run the organisation. Usually people after retirement from special forces or such superior posts they are hired by organisation or companies as they are well suited for the position as per their experience such as manager or supervisor. For example, figher or commercial pilots after their retirement they are hired as an pilot instructor as their experience can be used to train newbies. Many of the leader are usually middle aged people that is because they have the prior knowledge and experience to run the government.
In conclusion, elderly people hold great knowledge and experience, when placed in the right environment and given suitable opportunities, can achieve remarkable things and make wonders through their knowledge, wisdom and expertise.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify a relevant cause: some jobs demand physical strength and stamina, and you illustrate this with firefighters, construction workers and police officers. You also suggest that older workers can contribute in supervisory or training roles. However, the response only partially answers the task because it does not clearly explain the wider causes of hiring difficulty or set out practical measures to solve it. The second body paragraph mainly describes jobs older people may do, rather than proposing actions by employers or governments, such as retraining, age-discrimination policies or flexible work. The conclusion praises older workers but does not summarise a clear solution. Develop a direct position and support both causes and measures with specific explanation.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The paragraphs generally group related points, and transitions such as “To begin with” and “Moreover” help signal movement between ideas. However, progression is not always clear: the opening moves from physical limitations to the claim that older people can be used for their experience without establishing the relationship, and the second body paragraph shifts from workplace roles to political leaders. Some linking is mechanical, while “Which is the reason” begins an incomplete sentence and interrupts the flow. Make each paragraph develop one clear point, use references such as “these roles” precisely, and connect examples explicitly to the task’s causes or proposed solutions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “physical strength,” “stamina,” “supervision,” “experience” and “instructor,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There is also an attempt to use more formal expressions such as “suitable opportunities” and “expertise.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, sometimes making meaning less clear. Examples include “support their body functioning,” “excel themselves in that position,” and “used prior to their experience.” Spelling and form errors such as “strenght,” “alot” and “figher” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise vocabulary for employment barriers and solutions, and check collocations and spelling before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses with “even though,” “as” and “when,” but control is inconsistent. Errors occur in basic sentence patterns and in more complex attempts, which can make some ideas difficult to follow. For example, “People after reaching at the age of 50, find difficult” has an incorrect construction, while “Which is the reason many middle aged people find difficult to find a job” is a sentence fragment and omits an object after “find.” There are also problems with articles, agreement and verb forms, as in “an pilot instructor” and “people … couldn’t be able to find.” Practise complete sentence structures and check subject–verb agreement, articles and verb patterns; clearer, accurate sentences will make your arguments easier to understand.
