Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify relevant causes, including the impact of technology and economic difficulties, and suggest government support, jobs, and salary packages. However, the response addresses the task only partially: the causes are stated briefly rather than explained, and the proposed measures are vague. For example, “Government should take care about their nation” does not specify what action would help older workers, while “provide a jobs” is not developed with an example or explanation. The conclusion repeats the main points without adding support. The response also contains 180 words, below the required 250, so there is not enough space to develop both parts of the question. To strengthen the response, explain how employers’ preference for digital skills or lower labour costs affects older applicants, then give practical measures such as retraining or age-discrimination rules.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some basic organisation: the response introduces the issue, presents causes and possible solutions, and ends with a summary. Linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “Another significant factor,” and “To summarise” help signal these moves. However, the overall progression is not consistently clear because causes and solutions run together in one long paragraph, and several points are repeated, especially the difficulty older people face in finding jobs. Some connections are also unclear: the shift from economic decline to older workers’ technology knowledge is abrupt, and “whereas” does not clearly express the intended relationship. Use separate paragraphs for causes and measures, and connect each claim to its explanation so the reader can follow the argument without relying on repeated signposting.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the general topic, with relevant terms such as “modern technology,” “employment,” “economic,” and “salary packages.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. For instance, “economic down day.by.day” is not a natural way to describe a downturn, and “advance knowledge of things” is too vague for the skills older workers may lack. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “contemperorary,” “diffuclty,” and “advancment.” Aim to use precise phrases related to the topic, such as “digital skills,” “economic downturn,” and “age discrimination,” and check spelling carefully. This would make your ideas clearer and more appropriate for an academic essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentence forms, including “the authorities not only depend on humans but also on technology,” and the main message is generally understandable. However, the range of structures is limited, and errors occur frequently in basic sentence construction, agreement, articles, and verb forms. Examples include “a good jobs,” “the AI replace,” and “Government should take care,” where number or article choices are inaccurate. The fragment “Mostly in european and asian countries economic down day.by.day” also lacks a complete sentence structure. Punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent, particularly in “first and foremost” and “day.by.day.” Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check singular/plural agreement and articles before adding more complex clauses.
