Student answer (Band 6.0)

In certain territories, elderly citizens may face challenges to get a perfect job though they are experienced. I believe that the reasons behind this phenomenon are that they do not have adequate knowledge about the technologies and they are not fit enough compared to the young employees. The government can arrange computer training course for them along with they sould make effort to adapt the changing environment of this modern job industry,

To begin, nowadays, technology has made our lives convenient and effortless. There are diffrent digital tools and terms are being used in job and business sectors. Nevertheless, the previous generations are not well known with all these. Therefore, when they try to find a job, it seems to be difficult for them as all the companies require a employee who is expert to run various modern devices. Apart from this, the people over the age 50 are not physically or mentally active as like the youngs. For instance, now there is an increased amount of work pressure in every sector. As a result, they can not be able to cope with such situation as they do not have that much physical strength.

However, the government can offer vocational training on computer so that they learn the basic skills such as how to write and send an e-mail, Ms Word or Excel, internet browsing. Moreover, they have to work on themselves adapt the new atmosphere of the job sectors such as dealing with AI, online meetings.

To sum up, In my viewpoint, the individuals over the age 50 find it difficult to get appropriate jobs as they don't have suffficient knowledge about modern tools and they are not capable to take the extra work loads. The aforementioned measures can be taken to mitigate this issue.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question by identifying two causes—limited familiarity with technology and reduced ability to manage demanding workloads—and proposing training and adaptation as measures. Your position is clear, and the examples of email, Word, Excel, AI and online meetings make the training proposal relevant. However, the causes are not equally developed: the claim that people over 50 are less physically or mentally active is broad and would benefit from qualification and evidence. The solutions also need fuller explanation, especially who would provide training, how it could be made accessible, and what employers could do to reduce age-based barriers. Developing these points with a specific example would make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction presents the causes and measures, the first main paragraph explains causes, the next gives solutions, and the conclusion restates the main points. Linking expressions such as “Therefore,” “Apart from this,” and “To sum up” help readers follow the progression. This meets the expected level of organisation, and the paragraphing is appropriate. At times, however, connections feel mechanical or the reference is unclear; for example, “along with they…” in the opening does not form a clear link between the proposed measures. The solutions paragraph also moves quickly from computer skills to adapting to AI and online meetings. Use clearer transitions and develop each point in a more deliberate sequence to make cohesion more flexible.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of vocabulary for the topic, including “vocational training,” “work pressure,” “digital tools,” and “mitigate this issue.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and some topic-specific terms help make the examples concrete. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “perfect job,” “not well known with,” and “extra work loads.” Spelling errors, including “diffrent,” “sould,” and “suffficient,” also reduce accuracy. Some expressions are repeated, particularly references to modern tools and knowledge. Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully; this will make your meaning sound more natural and professional without requiring unnecessarily complex vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a reason clause with “as” and a result structure beginning “As a result.” Most of the argument remains understandable, but some grammatical errors occur in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and verb patterns. For example, “There are diffrent digital tools and terms are being used” combines two structures incorrectly, while “they can not be able to cope” uses an unnecessary modal construction. Other examples include “a employee” and “the people over the age 50.” The opening sentence also ends with a comma despite introducing a new paragraph of ideas. Review sentence boundaries, article use, and verb patterns, then proofread for punctuation. More consistently accurate complex sentences would strengthen control.
