Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both causes and possible measures, and your position is broadly clear: older workers may face physical and technological barriers, while employers should value their experience. The suggestions about technology training and hiring experienced people are relevant, and the Reliance example attempts to support your point. However, the causes and solutions are only partly developed; for example, the claim that people over 50 struggle to make decisions is asserted without explanation or evidence, and the example is not clearly connected to how hiring older workers solves the problem. The conclusion also repeats the contrast rather than summarising the proposed measures. The response is one word below the required minimum, so it does not meet the task’s length requirement. Develop each main idea with a clear explanation and a specific, relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on solutions, and a conclusion. This makes the main direction easy to follow. You also use linking expressions such as “Primarily,” “In addition,” and “To mitigate these problems.” However, some connections feel mechanical or do not show a clear relationship between ideas. For instance, “on the other hand” introduces a point that continues the same argument about employers’ preferences, rather than a contrast. The opening promises a discussion but does not clearly preview its two parts, and the final sentence, “all problems have solutions,” does not bring the argument to a focused close. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make each paragraph’s progression explicit, with clearer links between each cause and its corresponding measure.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “physical strength,” “new technologies,” “workforce,” “expertise,” and “unexpected conditions.” Terms such as “quinquagenarian” show an effort to use less common language, but repeating this formal word sounds unnatural in this context; “workers over 50” would be clearer. There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, including “conpanies,” “tech-savy,” “proirtizing,” and “filed,” which can distract the reader. Some phrases are imprecise or awkward, such as “forget old physical systems” and “contribute their maximum potential.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations rather than unusually formal vocabulary, and proofread spelling carefully. A broader set of precise terms for age discrimination, retraining, and workplace experience would help express the ideas more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a contrast with “while” and a cause-and-effect example introduced by “but then.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to read. Examples include “folks faces struggle,” “one of the major cause is people above 50 struggles,” and “a employee who are able,” where subject–verb agreement and article use are inaccurate. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent: “job.this” and “study camps.quinquagenarian” run separate sentences together, while several sentences begin with lowercase letters. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a subordinate clause, checking agreement, articles, and punctuation before adding more complex structures. Clearer sentence control will make your argument easier to follow.
