Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify a relevant cause: companies may prefer younger workers because they can learn quickly and use new technology. You also mention older workers’ experience and suggest that some countries expect them to retire. However, the response addresses the task only minimally: the question asks for causes and measures, but you do not clearly explain practical solutions. The final point about companies giving a “bounce” after age 50 is unclear and is not developed as a measure. Your position is also difficult to follow, and the response is 93 words below the required minimum, leaving too little space to explain and support your ideas. Develop two causes and two realistic measures, such as retraining and age-discrimination policies, with examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic attempt to group related points: you first discuss employers’ preference for younger workers, then describe older workers’ experience, and later mention retirement expectations. This gives the reader some sense of the topic’s direction. However, ideas are not arranged into clear paragraphs, and the response does not progress from causes to solutions. Connections such as “that why” are repeated, while “but” and “may be” do not always show a clear relationship between the ideas. The final sentence, “Its very good thing,” has no clear reference. Use separate paragraphs for causes and measures, and connect each point with clear transitions and references.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “experience,” “skills,” “technologies,” “companies,” and “families.” These words help communicate the general subject, but the range is basic and repetitive, and several word choices or spellings make the meaning difficult to understand. For example, “bounce” may be intended to mean a bonus, while “servive” and “rememing age” are unclear. Phrases such as “doing to much jobs” and “required younger” are not natural collocations. Build a more precise set of employment terms and check spelling; for instance, use “older employees,” “recruit,” “retirement,” and “workplace experience” where appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response mainly uses short, simple statements and attempts a few longer sentences with “because” and “that why.” This shows an effort to connect clauses, but sentence structures remain very limited and errors are frequent. For example, “some countries never gives jobs person” has problems with subject–verb agreement and sentence construction, while “they have a lot of information and experience that why they are good for companies” needs clearer clause boundaries and punctuation. Articles, plurals, and verb forms are also often missing or inaccurate. Practise building accurate basic sentences first, then combine them using “because,” “although,” and “as a result.” Check each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
