Student answer (Band 5.5)
I strongly agree that in many countries getting jobs for elderly people is becoming very difficult rather then considering their experience.there are many causes for this problem and also this can be ruled out with some outcome measures.
Firstly, people ove the age of 50 are getting repalce by younger people so that can complet the work fast and accurate, even thought the people are very keen at their work they need to conisder their age, health and capacity to work.many companies around world, prefer younger generation to get into work even though they are freshers as elderly people's health comes into consideration as a cause.
Ofcourse, this can be solved by taking proper measures, like the older individuals are supposed to work out of their stream by avoiding their heavy lifting jobs and get worked as operators or as an receptionist etc . this would help them to get a job with wage which they can compensate along withir family income. For instance, my uncle used to work as a construction worker and now he crossed 55 and unable to lift heavier objects and then moved to his his friends palce and now working as a watch-ma. now he can contribute some amount of money he can make to his family.
To conclude, In many of countries people over the age of 50 are very hard to get jobs, despite their experience because they are getting weak by their age and also considering their health issues also this can be over ruled by getting out of their experience and then working in a simple jobs which are donot give them any physical or mental stress.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both parts of the question and give a clear general view: older workers face barriers, and you suggest moving into less physically demanding work. The points about employers preferring younger applicants and concerns about older workers’ health are relevant. The uncle’s example also illustrates how a change of role can help. However, the causes and solutions are only partly developed: explain more precisely why experience does not overcome employers’ concerns, and discuss broader measures, such as retraining or age-discrimination protections, rather than relying mainly on individuals changing jobs. The conclusion repeats the main points but does not add a developed final insight.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure, with an introduction, a paragraph on causes, one on solutions, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “For instance,” and “To conclude” help readers follow the main stages. However, connections between ideas are sometimes mechanical or unclear. For example, the first body paragraph moves from employers’ preference for younger workers to health and capacity without clearly explaining how these points relate. The solution paragraph combines several suggestions and the personal example in a long sequence, making the central recommendation less easy to follow. Use clearer topic sentences and divide explanations into distinct steps; also make references such as “this” explicit so the reader can identify the idea being referred to.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “experience,” “health,” “capacity,” “heavy lifting,” and “family income.” These choices make the main subject understandable. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or misspelled expressions make the writing less clear, such as “ruled out,” “work out of their stream,” and “watch-ma.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “getting jobs for elderly people” and “get into work.” Aim for more precise employment-related language and check spelling and collocations carefully. For example, describe employers as “replacing older employees with younger workers,” and refer to “less physically demanding roles” rather than “simple jobs.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a cause-and-effect structure in “people over the age of 50 are getting replaced by younger people so that can complete the work fast.” However, complex sentences are often difficult to control, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries occur throughout. For example, “this can be solved by taking proper measures, like the older individuals are supposed to work” joins ideas incorrectly, while “now he crossed 55” uses an unsuitable tense. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, particularly after full stops. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea and a clearly formed supporting clause, then check subject–verb agreement and tense.
