Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response attempts to describe the data but fails to provide a clear overview or highlight key trends effectively. While it mentions several categories, the information is often inaccurate or poorly described, such as claiming 'mixture of people in first and second year were same' without clear reference to the data. The report lacks a logical summary of the most significant features, and the description of the trends is fragmented. To improve, you should focus on identifying the most prominent data points and grouping them logically rather than listing individual observations. The lack of a clear introduction and overview significantly impacts the clarity of the report.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the internal structure is weak. The progression of ideas is often disjointed, and the use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes misused, such as 'First of all' used repeatedly in a way that does not logically connect the points. Referencing is often unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between years. The transition between the positive and negative aspects is abrupt. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would greatly enhance the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'upwards', 'downward', and 'same'. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'jop opportunities' (job) and 'Peoples are thinking negative'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to describe trends with precision; for instance, instead of 'upwards', you should use verbs like 'increased' or 'rose'. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your range of vocabulary to include more precise terms for describing data, such as 'fluctuated', 'remained stable', or 'significant increase'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('The transport are', 'The traffic problems is'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are simple or poorly constructed, lacking the complexity required for higher bands. For example, 'The chart demonstrates that the results of a survey that conducted the time period of three year' is grammatically incorrect. You should focus on mastering basic sentence structures, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and practicing the correct use of tenses when describing data trends.
