Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response covers the main features of the charts, but the analysis is inconsistent. While you identify the most popular features and the main disadvantages, the data presentation is often imprecise. For example, you mention 'around 70-80% of people believe litter was a major problem', but the graph labels are not clearly linked to the data points. Additionally, the final paragraph is confusing and lacks a clear connection to the provided visual information. To improve, ensure that every claim is supported by accurate data from the charts and avoid vague descriptions like 'nice' (which appears to be a misinterpretation of the label 'noise').

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the logical progression is hindered by awkward phrasing and some disjointed sentences, particularly in the final paragraph. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Overall' and 'Finally', but they are sometimes applied mechanically. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the transition between the bar chart data and the line graph data is abrupt. Improving the flow between sentences and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are several spelling errors that distract the reader, such as 'promblem', 'remaind', 'mixuture', 'museuams', and 'littre'. Furthermore, some word choices are imprecise or incorrect, such as 'range of the shop' instead of 'range of shops' and 'nice' instead of 'noise'. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, the frequent spelling mistakes and inaccuracies in word choice limit your ability to convey information with precision. Focusing on proofreading for common spelling errors and learning accurate collocations will help you reach a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include incorrect verb tenses ('this figure remaind'), missing articles, and subject-verb agreement problems ('first graph show four categroy upwaerd trend'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several run-on sentences and missing spaces after periods. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of these errors means that the grammar is not consistently accurate. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement and article usage.
