Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to address the task by describing the provided charts. However, the information is often inaccurate or confusingly presented. For example, the statement 'the highest people things best about London of ranges of shops in 1 year' is grammatically broken and unclear. The report fails to accurately summarize the data trends, often misinterpreting the percentages and categories. While all parts of the prompt are addressed, the lack of clarity and the failure to provide a clear, accurate overview of the data significantly hinder the response. The information is not well-selected or organized to highlight key features, leading to a weak overall summary.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or incorrect, such as 'Followed by, the majority of worst things' and 'While, a major problem'. These transitions do not effectively link ideas. The referencing is also problematic; for instance, the phrase 'the ratio of mixture uses are qual' is unclear and does not relate well to the preceding information. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks coherence, making it difficult for the reader to follow the intended meaning of the data analysis.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often misused, which frequently impedes communication. Phrases like 'highest people things best' and 'moderate amount of ration' are unnatural and demonstrate a lack of control over basic collocations. There is little evidence of an attempt to use a wider range of vocabulary to describe trends or data points. Many words are used incorrectly, such as 'affective' instead of 'affecting' or 'qual' instead of 'equal'. The range is barely adequate for the task, and the frequent errors in word choice make the report difficult to interpret.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often distort the meaning. There are significant issues with subject-verb agreement ('the given bar charts and line graph illustrates'), sentence structure ('the first best thing of living in this city for range of shops at 45%'), and word order. Complex sentence structures are attempted but are almost always faulty, such as 'the review of positive answers from people for litter at 75% in 2 year'. Simple sentences are also prone to errors. The high frequency of errors in basic grammar and punctuation significantly impacts the readability of the report.
