IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The bar charts and line graph below show the results of a survey conducted over a three-year period to discover what people who live in London think of the city.

Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information below.

What are the best things about living in London?

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The illustration shows a three years data on what things people find good and bad about living in London.

The first graph shows the good things about London with range of shops leading for 3 years and transport as the least favourite among all.

The second graphs is about the worst things for the residents of London with cost of living as the main concern and transport is among the least worst part.

Litter seemed to be problematic in year two but that has reduced a bit for year 3, however it is on the top of list with 70% people thinking of it as a problem.

Air quality is second problematic thing and lastly it's the noise which concerns people lesser than former two.

Best things about living in London is the range of shops for majority of people. Job opportunities and mixture of people are also fairly liked by people. The likeness for museum and art galleries increased over the years for consecutive three years. Reduction in likeness of transport can be seen in year 2, however it improved in year 3.

Among the worst things about London is cost of living which was highest in year 1, reduced a lot in year two and then increased slightly in year 3.

Traffic congestion remained the main problem for year two and year 1 two but reduced a bit in year 3. Crime has the highest rating in year 1 but that reduced a lot in year 2 and 3.

Cost of housing remained same for initial both years however it increased in year 3. Transport cost was high in year 1 but then remained same for next two years.
