IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The bar charts and line graph below show the results of a survey conducted over a three-year period to discover what people who live in London think of the city.

Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information below.

What are the best things about living in London?

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The bar charts and line graph compares the data of a research about citizens perception about life in London over the period of three years.

Overall, In the initial year more people were satisfied with the range of shops and job opportunities, however, in the later years it slightly declines whereas ,night life and transport have very minimal positive reviews. On the other hand , the figures of negative remarks about cost of living and traffic congestion were almost at peak as compared to other unsatisfactory remarks about living facilities. However , Line graph shows Air quality and noise slightly went down over the period of 3 years while litter was rise in the beginning although from the 2 year it fell down.

In the first year , range of shops was the most satisfactory facility with 45% , job opportunities was approximately 37% , mixture of people was 35% while the satisfaction level gradually declined in the last period with ranges of shops 41% , jobs 34% and mixture of people 34% respectively. In contrast, the worst things that citizens was feel are about living cost, traffic congestion and crime with 58%, however it decrease in the later years.

Moreover, transport was the most unsatisfactory thing that people have over the three years. Additionally,70% individuals point out litter as major problem that gradually went up to (75%) in next year however in the end it came back to nearly starting position. while the air quality and noise shares was between 60-65 both fell down slightly and reached at between 55-60 in the last year.
