Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response attempts to cover all three parts of the visual data, mentioning the best things, worst things, and the line graph regarding problems like litter, air quality, and noise. However, the data reporting is frequently vague, inaccurate, or incomplete. For example, stating that 'range of shops' had the 'highest percentages in all the three periods' is correct, but other figures are generalized without proper comparative detail or precise figures. Furthermore, some of the descriptions rely on speculation rather than objective data reporting, such as claiming 'diverse people from diverse community effort to migrate to london.' Because the ideas are underdeveloped and the data is only partially conveyed, it fits the criteria for Band 5.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The organization of the report is weak. The student fails to use standard paragraphing, splitting the response into a chaotic block of sentences with inconsistent capitalization and missing punctuation at sentence boundaries. While transitional markers like 'Hence' and 'additionally' are attempted, cohesive devices are often misused or mechanical. Progression between ideas lacks logical clarity, making it difficult to follow the transition from the best things to the worst things and finally to the line graph data. Overall coherence is severely hampered by poor punctuation and paragraphing structure, corresponding to a Band 4.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The lexical range is limited and repetitive, with basic vocabulary used throughout the text (e.g., 'best thing', 'worst things', 'factors'). There are noticeable word choice and collocation errors, such as 'inclusivity nature', 'a fallen' instead of 'a fall', and 'people concern on' instead of 'public concern regarding'. Spelling and word formation are inconsistent, including typos like 'consitered' and 'decread'. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey basic concepts related to the prompt, the frequent errors and restricted range place it firmly at Band 5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0
Grammatical control is weak throughout the essay. The text contains pervasive capitalization errors (starting sentences and proper nouns with lowercase letters) and severe punctuation lapses, resulting in run-on sentences and fragmented clauses. There is a limited range of grammatical structures, and attempts at complex sentences frequently contain structural errors, such as 'Compared to first year third year the job opportunities had a fallen' and 'it seems the solutions for the issues is carrying out.' Grammatical errors are frequent and cause considerable difficulty for the reader, matching the Band 4 descriptors.
