Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response attempts to cover all parts of the visual data, including the best things, worst things, and specific problem areas across the three-year period. However, the selection of data is somewhat erratic and features several inaccurate readings and vague generalisations, such as stating that 'traffic accumulation and house cost remained same then, raised and fall by some percent respectively'. The overview provided in the second paragraph is slightly disjointed and contains grammatical issues that obscure precise comparisons. While the main trends are touched upon, the lack of careful data selection and precise reporting places this response firmly in Band 5.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression is frequently disrupted by poor transitions and awkward sentence structuring. For example, sentences start abruptly with phrases like 'Moving towards the disapointments,' and the flow within paragraphs lacks seamless cohesive links. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and repetitive structures hinder readability. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal coherence is weak, preventing the text from achieving a higher band. Overall arrangement shows some basic organisational structure, which aligns with the Band 5 descriptors.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary range is limited and frequently repetitive. The student uses basic terms and attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'implication', 'opinie', and 'disapointments', but these attempts are often marred by spelling and word-choice errors (e.g., 'opinie' instead of 'opine' or 'opinion', 'disapointments', 'recidents'). Collocations are weak, as seen in phrases like 'traffic accumulation'. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey a basic meaning, frequent errors and limited precision restrict the score to Band 5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but many of these attempts are faulty. Long, convoluted sentences filled with punctuation and grammatical errors are common, such as the opening sentence which runs on excessively. There are frequent errors in verb tenses, subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the people are... however, traffic congestion is'), and word forms (e.g., 'imporved', 'raising percentage', 'euqally'). These frequent errors can cause some difficulty for the reader and prevent the grammar score from reaching Band 6.
