Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the survey’s three-year scope and include relevant features from all three visuals, especially the popularity of shops and the prominence of litter. However, the report only partially describes the data and contains important inaccuracies. You call crime the main drawback at about 58%, whereas cost of living and crime are both around 56–57% in Year 1, and traffic congestion is also close; crime then falls substantially. The overview that the best things have “less result” than the worst things is unclear and not a meaningful comparison. You also omit several useful trends, such as the broadly stable appeal of shops and the decline in reported litter from Year 2 to Year 3. Select key comparisons and report them accurately.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic report structure: an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs covering the positive and negative aspects and the line graph. This gives the reader some sense of how the information is grouped. However, progression within paragraphs is often weak, and the discussion moves between categories without clearly comparing years. For example, the paragraph beginning “There are six benifite” shifts from benefits to drawbacks and then back to benefits. Linking phrases such as “However” and “Another issue” are present, but they do not consistently clarify the relationship between ideas. Organise the body by chart, use a clear topic sentence for each paragraph, and connect figures through explicit comparisons across the three years.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “survey,” “major issue,” “drawback,” and “air quality,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning unclear. Phrases such as “best things to living,” “less result,” and “good amount of individual” are not natural ways to describe survey findings. Spelling errors—including “benifite,” “charst,” “smilarlly,” and “noice”—are also noticeable. Build a reliable set of expressions for describing proportions and trends, such as “was considered the most popular,” “accounted for,” and “declined,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a few longer sentences, for example, “litter is majour issue which is face by local people,” but control is inconsistent, and many sentences contain errors that make the reader work to understand them. The opening has subject–verb and article problems (“The bar charts and line graph illustrates the result”), while “There are also 5 drawback to lives” has errors in number and verb form. Sentence boundaries and capitalisation are also unreliable, as in “for living in London city” after a full stop. Most structures are simple, with limited accurate use of complex clauses. Practise forming clear subject–verb sentences, checking singular and plural agreement, and using articles and punctuation consistently.
