Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the three chart components and mention several relevant categories, including shops, jobs, congestion, litter and air quality. However, the report only partially conveys the data and lacks a clear overview of the main patterns. Several figures are inaccurate or too general: shops are not “50 percent” but about 42–45% across the years, and job opportunities are around 35–38%, rather than 40% throughout. The statement that 60% consider both congestion and crime very bad also misses their differing trends and values. The final chart is described using single approximate figures rather than the changes over time. Include a concise overview and compare the most notable rises, falls and consistently high or low results.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic sequence: it introduces the charts, discusses positive features, then negative features and problems. Paragraph breaks and linking words such as “While” and “According to” help signal these shifts. However, there is no clear overall progression from an overview to selected comparisons, and some links are mechanical or unclear. For example, “These all informations are delivered in a university lecture” does not connect meaningfully to the chart description, while “While other chart showing bad…” begins an incomplete transition. Group related information more deliberately and use comparisons to connect figures across years, rather than listing categories in succession. Clearer paragraphing around the overview and each chart would make the report easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant chart vocabulary, including “survey,” “percent,” “job opportunities,” “traffic congestion” and “air quality,” so the topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning unclear. Examples include “number of shops” for the range of shops, “satisfactory” for what residents regard as a positive feature, and “cost of lining” instead of cost of living. There are also noticeable spelling errors such as “gallaries,” “transort” and “thin.” Use precise category labels from the chart and vocabulary for reporting data, such as “accounted for,” “rose,” “fell” and “remained stable,” while checking spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and the reader can usually identify the topic of each section. However, the range of structures is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence formation, verb forms, agreement and articles. For example, “The bar charts and line graph given are showing” uses an awkward tense construction, while “how these things effects the residents” has incorrect agreement and sentence structure. Phrases such as “While other chart showing…” and “While noise is on third number…” are incomplete clauses. There are also missing articles and plural forms, as in “over three year period” and “these all informations.” Practise complete subject–verb sentences and use straightforward comparative structures accurately before attempting longer sentences.
