Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify several relevant features, including shops as a leading positive, litter as a major concern, and changes in the reported problems. However, the overview is not consistently accurate: crime is not the worst problem across the period, and the best feature is not simply both shops and the mixture of people. Several details are also misreported. For example, the mixture-of-people figures are 36% in Years 1 and 2, not 38%, and museums and galleries rise from about 29% to 34.5%, not 30% to 40%. The claim that all worst features fell by almost 20% is unsupported. Select the clearest comparisons and report them accurately, with a concise overview of the main patterns.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has an identifiable introduction, overview and detail paragraphs, and phrases such as “Turning towards the details” signal a move into data. However, progression within the paragraphs is difficult to follow because positive features, litter, and worst aspects are mixed together, while the final paragraph returns to several categories without a clear comparison. Linking words such as “Furthermore,” “Whereas,” and “Apart from this” are sometimes used where the relationship between ideas is unclear. Organise the report by chart or by positive and negative features, and group related figures together. Clearer topic sentences and more precise references to the years would make the information easier to track.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “job opportunities,” “mixture of people,” “museums and art galleries,” and “traffic congestion.” Nevertheless, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the report awkward or unclear, such as “the minimum things,” “main reason for individuals to stay here,” and “least reason for people live in London.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “shopes,” “detalis,” “felldown,” and “nosie.” Use standard chart-report language such as “most popular feature,” “least-cited advantage,” and “declined,” and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish advantages from problems.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts longer sentences and subordinate clauses, for example, “While, Litter is a main issue in London and noise pollution is least reason…,” but complex constructions are often faulty and can obscure the intended meaning. Errors recur in subject–verb agreement (“The bar graph and line chart illustrates”), verb forms (“were remain constant”), articles and plurals (“the crime are”), and sentence boundaries and punctuation. Tense control is also inconsistent when describing the survey’s years. These problems mean that the reader sometimes has to infer the intended comparison. Practise accurate simple past-tense statements first, then add subordinate clauses only when their grammar is secure; proofread agreement and sentence boundaries.
