Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the broad subject and include an overview of the three-year survey, with relevant attention to the most popular positive feature and the problem ratings. However, the report addresses the charts only partially: most figures for the best and worst aspects are omitted, and the overview does not clearly compare the main patterns across all three visuals. Some details are inaccurate: litter is about 75% in Year 2, not 73%, and noise falls from about 58% to 53%, rather than ending at 56%. The claim that cost of living, congestion and crime all declined after Year 1 is also too broad; congestion stayed level before falling, while crime rose slightly in Year 3. Select key comparisons and report them accurately.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic report structure: an introduction, an overview, and two paragraphs introduced by “Firstly” and “Secondly.” This gives the reader some organisation, and the sequence from positive and negative features to the problem ratings is understandable. However, progression is limited because the first body paragraph groups several categories without explaining their relative changes, while the second focuses almost entirely on the line graph. Linking phrases such as “Similarly” help, but the connections between ideas are sometimes unclear, and the repeated “first year” framing makes the account feel list-like. Grouping related data and using clearer comparisons between years would make the progression more coherent.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “range of shops,” “job opportunities,” “traffic congestion,” and “air pollution,” so the subject is generally clear. However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, spelling, or collocation errors reduce precision: “line graps,” “heigest,” “upto,” and “had marked” are examples. Phrases such as “maximum record” and “in comparison to other” are not natural ways to describe chart data. Use standard forms such as “line graph,” “highest,” and “reached,” and choose precise reporting language such as “accounted for” or “stood at.” More varied vocabulary for increases, decreases, and comparisons would strengthen the report.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response mainly uses simple sentence patterns, with a few attempts to connect clauses using “and,” “but,” and “after.” These attempts often contain errors that make the report less clear. For example, “The bar charts and the line graps below illustrates” has subject–verb disagreement, and “the three year of survey result shows” has problems with number and agreement. In “the air pollution had maximum record that is 65%,” the clause structure is awkward, while “at reached to third year” is not grammatically formed. Work on plural subjects, articles, verb forms, and complete clause patterns. Building accurate simple sentences first, then adding controlled comparisons, will improve clarity.
