Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify the topic and report several relevant positive features, including shops, jobs, diversity, museums, nightlife and transport. However, the response only minimally covers the charts: it gives no overview of the main patterns and omits the entire chart about whether litter, air quality and noise are major problems. Several figures are substantially inaccurate: shops are reported as 55%, 45% and 48%, rather than approximately 45%, 42% and 43%; museums rise to 45%, whereas the chart shows about 35%; and the negative features are merely listed without figures or comparisons. To improve, summarise the most important overall trends and select accurate figures from all three visuals, rather than making unsupported claims.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some basic organisation: the response begins with an introduction, discusses positive features, and signals a contrast with “In contrast” before mentioning disadvantages. This gives the reader a general sense of the topic. However, the report has no clear overview, and the long middle paragraph moves from one feature to another without grouping or comparing the data. The final sentence is only a list, so the negative information is not developed. Linking is also limited, with “however” and “but” doing much of the work. Use separate paragraphs for an overview, positive features and negative/problem data, and connect comparisons across years explicitly to create a clearer progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, such as “job opportunities,” “diversity,” “traffic jams” and “cost of housing,” and the meaning is generally recoverable. However, the range is limited and several expressions are imprecise or unnatural for a formal chart report: “good this,” “notorious thing,” “wonderfull,” and “Transport facilities are also good” do not describe the survey results precisely. Spelling errors such as “deacreased” and “tis” are noticeable, while repeated use of “city” and “good” limits variety. Aim for accurate reporting language such as “the proportion of respondents,” “was regarded as,” and “rose/fell to,” and check spelling and collocations before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentences and use basic past-tense reporting, including “the number decreased” and “in contrast.” However, grammatical control is inconsistent, and errors occur in both simple and more extended structures. Examples include “This chart illustrate” (subject–verb agreement), “over three year period” (article and plural), “55% people agree” (missing “of” and tense), and “it become 48%” (verb form). Punctuation and sentence boundaries are also weak, as in “35% in second and third year.Another good…” and the capitalisation after a comma in “vast, In year 1.” Practise accurate past-tense sentences and articles, then proofread agreement, punctuation and sentence boundaries.
