Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify the survey’s general subject and report some relevant findings, including the prominence of shops and the rise and subsequent fall in concern about litter. However, the response covers the charts only partially and gives no clear overview of the main patterns across all three visuals. Several figures or descriptions are inaccurate: first-year air quality is about 66%, not 65% (a small difference), but the worst feature is reported as cost of living at 56%, whereas crime is about 56% and cost of living about 57%; transport is around 35% in Year 1 and 27% thereafter, not 25%. The best-things chart also includes several categories that are not discussed. Select the key highs, lows and changes, and compare them accurately.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a basic sequence: it introduces the survey, discusses the line graph, then moves to the best and worst aspects. This gives the reader some sense of the chart groups, and phrases such as “In second year” help signal time. However, the organisation is not fully controlled: the opening repeats the task description, and the final paragraph shifts abruptly from best features to worst features without a clear transition or a concluding overview. Some references are also unclear, such as “this percentage” when several figures have just been mentioned. Use distinct paragraphs for the overview and key comparisons, and connect each figure explicitly to its category and year.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “percentage,” “job opportunities,” “air quality,” and “major problem,” so the reader can generally identify the subject of each point. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repetitive or imprecise, such as “best thing” and “worst thing” throughout. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “reults,” “liter,” “london,” and “survry,” which reduce the accuracy and polish of the report. Some collocations are awkward, for example “people said yes litter is a major problem.” Build a more varied set of chart-reporting expressions and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
Most sentences use simple structures, and the main message is usually understandable, but grammatical errors occur frequently and sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “The bar chart and line graph below illustrates” has subject–verb disagreement, while “The survey shows percentage of people, who told what are…” has missing articles and an awkward clause structure. “Line graph shows are liter…” is also incomplete, and “Smallest percentage of people said that transport in a best thing” contains errors in articles and sentence construction. There is little evidence of accurate complex structures. Practise complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and check agreement, articles, and punctuation when combining clauses.
