Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify both positive and negative aspects of London and include several relevant figures, such as the first-year cost of living at about 57% and congestion at roughly 56% in the first two years. However, the report only partially covers the visual: it omits the separate line graph on litter, air quality and noise, and gives no clear overall summary of the main patterns. Some figures and trends are inaccurate: for example, museums and galleries rise from about 29% to 34.5%, not 38%, while crime is about 56% in Year 1 rather than 60%. The account of transport and housing is also vague. Select the most important comparisons, report them accurately, and add an overview that summarises the key trends across all charts.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has some basic organisation: it begins with an introduction, discusses positive features, and then moves to the worst aspects. This gives the reader a general sense of the topic. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven, and the final chart is not incorporated. Linking expressions such as “Secoundly” and “lastly” are used mechanically, while several ideas run together without clear sentence boundaries—for example, the discussion of crime, housing and transport. Group related comparisons into clear paragraphs and use transitions to show whether figures are rising, falling or remaining stable. A concise overview paragraph would also help the report develop in a more logical sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “range of shops,” “job opportunities,” “traffic congestion” and “cost of housing,” so the subject is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling and form errors make parts difficult to read, such as “thaughts,” “apportunitiues,” “gallaries,” “higehr” and “decrteased.” Phrases such as “spiked” and “on its peak” are not well suited to the small changes described, and “the cost is very high” is imprecise for reporting survey responses. Practise accurate spelling and use standard chart language such as “accounted for,” “rose slightly,” “declined” and “remained stable.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
There are attempts to connect ideas and compare years, but sentence structures are mostly simple or become difficult to follow when several points are joined together. Errors in sentence boundaries and punctuation are frequent, as in “The job apportunitiues could be seen stable in year one thet were around 38% and year 2 and 3 were both same.” Agreement and verb forms are also unreliable: “the range of shops were” should be “the range of shops was,” and “it was slightly decreased” should be “it decreased slightly.” Articles and prepositions are often missing or awkward. Use shorter, complete sentences, check subject–verb agreement and past-tense forms, and punctuate each comparison clearly.
