Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover the three visuals and give a relevant overview, identifying shops and job opportunities as leading positive features, cost and congestion as major drawbacks, and litter as the most serious problem. Several comparisons are supported with figures, including litter’s rise and subsequent fall. However, some claims are imprecise or inaccurate: shops were above 40% in each year, but job opportunities were around 35–38%, not consistently 38%; and cost of living was not above 50% in all three years. The statement that cost of living and transport were both at the bottom also conflicts with the chart, where transport is low but cost of living is among the highest. Include clearer year-to-year comparisons and report the main trends more precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for positive features, drawbacks, and major problems. This makes the information easy to follow in broad terms. You also use basic linking words such as “Overall,” “Whereas,” and “but.” However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. “Whereas” begins a fragment-like contrast, and “Regarded bad things about London” does not clearly signal the relationship between the ideas. The overview and later details also repeat some points without developing comparisons across the years. Use complete contrast sentences and organise each detail paragraph around a clear comparison, such as the highest and lowest categories or the main changes over time.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “range of shops,” “job opportunities,” “traffic congestion,” and “air quality,” so the reader can identify the chart categories. There are also attempts at more descriptive language, such as “decline” and “slightly decreased.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate or unnatural word combinations are noticeable and sometimes make the report harder to read: “regaring,” “opportunites,” “sattisfied,” and “nose poroblems” are examples. Phrases such as “more bad thing,” “least beat things,” and “above from all” are not natural ways to describe rankings. Aim for accurate chart-reporting collocations such as “the most popular feature,” “the least-cited advantages,” and “the highest proportion,” and proofread spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, and the report’s main meaning is generally recoverable. For example, the sentence about litter uses a time sequence with “but” and “after,” while the overview attempts to summarise several categories. However, some grammatical errors recur. The opening has subject–verb disagreement (“The bar charts demonstrates”), and several sentences omit articles or use incorrect forms, as in “above 40% people” and “Cost of living and transport at th bottom of list.” Sentence boundaries and clause structure also need attention: “Whereas, night life and transport are least beat things” is not a well-formed contrast. Practise complete sentences with accurate subjects and verbs, articles, and plural forms, then check punctuation and clause connections.
