Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify several relevant positive features, including shops, job opportunities, cultural diversity, museums and transport, and you attempt to describe changes across the years. However, the report covers only the “best things” chart and omits both the chart of worst aspects and the line graph about litter, air quality and noise. There is also no clear overview of the main patterns. Some comparisons are inaccurate or unclear: for example, job opportunities fall from Year 1 and then remain about the same, rather than increasing in Year 3; transport does not stay equal in the first two years. The response therefore addresses the task only minimally. Select key features from all three visuals and summarise their overall trends accurately.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

There is a loose sequence of points about shops, employment, diversity, museums and transport, so the reader can recognise the general subject. However, the ideas are presented as one continuous paragraph without a clear introduction, overview or grouping, and the progression is difficult to follow. Repeated openings such as “In london” and “In year 1” make the report feel list-like. Some links between claims are unclear, as in “the graph bar increase once and also decrease,” and “but now they are maximum” does not clearly identify the comparison. Organise the report into paragraphs by purpose or chart, use clear comparisons, and make references explicit so each point connects logically to the next.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “range of shops,” “job opportunities,” “transport facilities,” and “museums and art galleries,” which helps convey the topic. However, the vocabulary is basic and often imprecise, with repeated use of “maximum” and “number” where the chart requires descriptions of proportions or rankings. Several spelling errors, including “oppoutunities,” “differernt,” and “galaaries,” reduce clarity. Phrases such as “people of differernt counties lived there” and “enjoys outside steraming” are difficult to interpret and do not accurately express the chart categories. Build a more precise range for describing survey results, such as “percentage,” “proportion,” “ranked highest,” “declined,” and “remained stable.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to combine ideas using clauses, for example, “the graph bar increase once and also decrease,” and you use time references such as “in year 1” and “in year 3.” However, sentence structures are often incomplete or poorly controlled, and errors frequently make relationships between ideas unclear. Examples include “the job oppoutunities is,” where subject–verb agreement is faulty, and “people of london enjoys,” where the plural subject does not agree with the verb. Articles and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, as in “London is large country,” while several sentences run together without punctuation. Practise accurate simple comparison sentences first, then add subordinate clauses while checking agreement, articles, tense and punctuation.
